^ And Ashley was the one who found her, and it was a gunshot death. I don't know how you could ever get that out of your mind.

I had no idea Ashley found her mom, either. How awful.

I have a former coworker (intern) who went through the same situation about a year and a half ago. 23-year-old who was just finishing college. She already gave off a vulnerable vibe. Also, it was either on her birthday or right before Christmas. I think the mom had a history of depression, too.

agree about the emotional toll on that family. and they knew of naomi's emotional challenges all along. that alone has to be hard on a kid. learning that your 'normal' is not really normal.

I like her I just find therapy/social justice jargon annoying when overused. It just seems so affected and lacks authenticity.

How horrible. I didn't know that she found her either. The Judds have definitely had a lot going on in their lives.

I like her, but reading that gave me a headache.

Ahhhh, so she's a twat lol. I should go look up some old interviews. I'm unfamiliar with her speech patterns and just assumed this was due to the therapy she's been in. I've watched her interviews. She sits up very straight! ^ And Ashley was the one who found her, and it was a gunshot death. I don't know how you could ever get that out of your mind. You cannot get it out of your mind. It will take a long time to fade off into it's own spot in her mind. I go back and forth with the steroid thing. It's sad and it must upset her because she's got an amazing face. They were/are sadly very messed up women, but yes, good people. They will be recovering forever.

^^^ Yes and she uses big words. I think she always wanted to make sure people knew she was educated. I recall her talking about her degree or something. She was trying to prove something to someone. I found her off-putting in interviews.
That being said, I do feel for her. I really didn't know much about the Judd's life until fairly recently.

I think that a lot of her mannerisms are basically a byproduct of having a messed-up, chaotic childhood and this is kind of a coping mechanism for feeling like you have control in your life. It can be offputting to people, but there's way worse.

i remember i read one of the judd auto/biographies many years ago ... can't remember which one. i think they tried to spin off the chaotic upbringing as naomi being unsettled or just whimsical. i think if i re-read it today, it would come across as mental illness. i know i have had a crash course in what constitutes acceptable/normal behavior, i may not be the only one.

www.nickiswift.com/35685/dark-secrets-judd-family-tried-hide/It's really amazing they had such success considering all the things that have gone on in their lives, from childhood and beyond. This article goes over a lot of it. I definitely raised an eyebrow to Ashley's statement about inappropriate sexual behavior in front of the children. Among other things. Holy crap.
