Rave: Walked to Aldi to get my valentine's day meal to cook tonight: Scored 2 grassfed ribeyes, a nice bottle of cabernet rated 94 points, and a package of reese's cups, for under $26!
Rant: A motherf*%!ing bee stung my hand while I was in there. Just minding my own business trying to push my kid's stroller and it was hanging out on the handle. It really hurt and I had to pull out the stinger and spray my palm with alcohol, hoping my hand didn't blow up before I got home.

(I guess if somebody had to get stung it's better you than the kiddo?) True! He just sat quietly while I freaked out mid-aisle LOL. I've just gotten unlucky in terms of bee stings, they've gotten me in the most sensitive places where the stinger is hard to get out: on the arch of my foot on a beach once, and the palm of my hand, right in one of the lines. |

Rave - our son brought home flowers on Valentine's Day for his mom and my MIL. First time ever he's done that. To Beeyotch on the bees - when I was in college, I had a summer job delivering furniture to construction sites. One day, the driver and I were hopping back in the truck when he suddenly jumped out as soon as he sat down. He was jumping around outside the truck, grabbing his crotch. And cursing. It turned out what happened was that he had sat on a yellowjacket, and it had stung him right on his balls.  When we looked at the seat, you could literally see the yellowjacket still lying on its back with its pointer up. The driver grabbed it with his glove and squashed it with all the gusto you could imagine.  |

Rave: got a nice plant for Valentine, hope I don’t kill it XD
Rave bis: things are finally starting to really pick up at the studio, despite a week of holidays in January, I did make a good month, February also looking good so far. I finally took an accountant as well and a professional account for my business (feel so grown up now XD) and things are running smoothly. I’m by no means rich, but I’m getting close to what I earned as a teacher, that feels good. Mostly to have more and more customers and be happy to go to work every day. Love my new career

rave: natasha, the kitten, got spayed 2 fridays ago and everything went well and she was back to her old self (but with a cone) after a couple of days
rant: one week after her surgery, she started having really bad diarrhoea and projectile vomiting like i've never seen a cat do before, and of course it was saturday 9pm and the vet's clinic was closed so i called the emergency vet clinic and explained her symptoms and they said to bring her in rather than waiting because she'd had surgery a week before. turned out it was just a badly timed gastro, but the visit to the emergency clinic and all the tests they had to do cost me more than the surgery. ouch.

You’re not a sleeper or something are you??? ha! yah we're all russki agents lol it kind of started as a joke. boris was named boris because he looked like a fat little russian when he was little, like a kitten version of boris yeltsin. and he was also quite spoiled and acted like he owned the place the minute i brought him home, so a friend had joked that he was acting like a little aristo boris johnson. and then it kind of became a running joke that if i ever got another cat, i should get a female and they could be boris and natasha, like the soviet baddies in 'rocky and bullwinkle' so yeah there's a russian connection but it has more to do with my love of all things cold war retro. and thanks, the little shit is doing fine but that peace of mind cost me a pretty penny lol |
