Of course it had to be Boris and Natasha!
I hate that those things have to happen after-hours or a holiday weekend. When I had to take my late border collie to the emergency vet it was Memorial Day weekend. Ended up with a bill over $2000 for a surgery my vet would have charged me $200.

rave: natasha, the kitten, got spayed 2 fridays ago and everything went well and she was back to her old self (but with a cone) after a couple of days rant: one week after her surgery, she started having really bad diarrhoea and projectile vomiting like i've never seen a cat do before, and of course it was saturday 9pm and the vet's clinic was closed so i called the emergency vet clinic and explained her symptoms and they said to bring her in rather than waiting because she'd had surgery a week before. turned out it was just a badly timed gastro, but the visit to the emergency clinic and all the tests they had to do cost me more than the surgery. ouch. I didn’t know you got another kitty! Congrats!

I love that you named the new one Natasha to go with Boris. Funny pet names crack me up, I love them. It was honestly the best part of my job at the spay/neuter clinic, hearing what pet names people come up with.

Yes, about 90% of the time I have to bring one of the pets to the hospital or vet it HAS to be on a weekend. Almost had to take my dog to the emergency as well last weekend, as she was throwing up again, very nervous and stressed. I was so worried, she's 14 and every time she acts a bit weird I fear she will just fall over and die basically. I took her for a long walk to try to figure out if it gets better or worse. She was acting like she's the sickest dog of them all, when we met another dog and she instantly changed her whole behavior and starting to run around as if she was a puppy. Instant healing. Then she barked at me because I didn't throw her any stones into the river she could get back out. I'm happy I took her for the walk, otherwise I'd have a very expensive vet visit where they would have told me she has an upset stomach. And is maybe an actress that wants attention and treats.

I’m the same with my cat, the older one is nearly 17 and basically every little thing gets me paranoid now. She’s also the one who needed emergency surgery on December 31st five years ago. That … was not cheap 😅 Glad to hear Natasha is doing better Sput ! (In your shoes Inwould also have thought OMG let’s go to the ER this is serious)

yeah, when i came home i kind of felt like an idiot but i think i was mostly just pissed off at the amount they charged. i spoke to natasha's surgeon yesterday and told her what had happened and she said she would have recommended the same thing since this happened while she was still recovering from surgery but it still hurts lol

This is my dog too! Tonight I discovered that she’d thrown up 2-3 times in the sitting room, she looked really sheepish (not her fault) but seems to be doing better. She’d not been eating much the last couple of days, moving slowly, not really wanting to go for walks, sneezing & had a hot nose & I’m starting to panic then tonight after she’d been sick she had cuddles & tummy rubs while we watched the 1st half of a film & seems much better.

My first cat was a consumate performer. She'd dislocated two toes in her back foot falling off a wardrobe while chasing a moth and we made a huge fuss of her while she recovered. After that she started to spontaneously limp whenever she'd been told off for being an arsehole or she felt she wasn't being worshipped enough.

omg kittylady that is hilarious!
we sometimes call our cat 'canchito rengo' that translates literally as 'little limpy pig', and means that she is pretending to be ill/sick. in our case we are just being mean with her, she is a darling really.

Rant - our son's car battery died right outside the Dunkin Donuts he works at. I need leave work to extract it and do a quick swap at Costo. Also, for some reason he can't get his key out of the ignition, and had to put a t-shirt on top of the steering wheel so he could head in to work. At least with a dead battery, nobody can drive off with it. First world problems.

The key won’t work without electricity. Might need to change the battery in the key fob too.
