Is it drugs or schizophrenia? He sure seems to have some disordered thoughts. And a fixation on 11-12 year olds which is REALLY disturbing.
I really dont know anything about him.

I should correct my previous post. Ezra is nonbinary and I believe the correct pronouns are they/them.

They gave me the creeps in that Wallflower movie. Something about them.

I looked up Ezra's imdb and googled images. Ezra is a real chameleon, looking different in just about every photo. I agree, creepy.
eta: sorry, but this they/them issue drives me crazy. It goes against everything we've ever learned about grammar and pronouns. "They" is not a singular pronoun, it's plural. And makes reading very confusing.

They gave me the creeps in We Need to Talk About Kevin. They nailed that performance and I think it was a preview. They are still relatively young yet this bad behavior has been apparent for a long time now, so I'm wondering if they have family and why they put them in front of the cameras to start with. I also don't really know anything about them. trixie I always stop myself from saying "they is" just to differentiate but I don't think that's correct either.

I don't think I'd ever heard about them until this thread. To me, everything points to some serious mental health issues, but like you said, the fixation on 11 or 12 year old girls is especially scary and disturbing. The pronoun issue can be difficult for me and I'm sorry to admit it can still make me feel eye-rolley and impatient, but I'm really working on not only using the pronouns that make a person feel comfortable and valued, but on my attitude about their use. Someone on the old board (I think it was Grey's, Sput, or Burnt) mentioned that we've always used they/them for individuals like doctors/nurses/mailmen/etc., which I realized was true. That calmed the grammar sergeant in my brain enough to put the focus on respecting each individual without necessarily understanding or agreeing with them. It's still not always easy, at least for me, but I'm trying.

No idea if anyone saw The stand, but Ezra playing the trashcan man creeped me out to no end.

I liked the Wallflower movie character.
It's probably wrong of me, but I can't help but side eye the pronoun issue when the person in question is also this obvs unstable.
But I'll try to be respectful at least if that's that they (the person we are talking about in this thread) want. See? The grammar part of this is something I have difficulty with as well. They/them will always be plural in my head. And this is a singular person we are talking about.

as a nonbinary person myself it'd just be really cool if people could respect the pronouns regardless of who it belongs to.

Whodunnits are full of singular “they” You sometimes have to phrase your sentence carefully to avoid being confusing but this is true for ANY pronoun! Sentences where you mention a lot of people and have lots of “she” and “her” and “he” can also become confusing but nobody ever say they’re upset with those because it’s the “regular” pronouns. as for Ezra, dear lord, I’ve always liked them as an actor because they’re super charismatic, but that is beyond fuck up.

As a person who is old school grammar and has done a great deal of writing and editing, they/them as a singular drives me absolutely insane, especially when there are other pronouns flying around in the sentence.
As a person who supports and respects people identifying how they choose, I'm totally cool with it and as lindsay said -- I just have to calm the grammar sergeant in me.
As a teacher of littles, I hate teaching pronouns. They are yet another thing that makes English a ridiculous language.

Yeah, I wasn't trying to be disrespectful, but if I don't even know who this person is, how am I supposed to know their preferred pronouns?
And it definitely leads to confusion, like this sentence in a previous post "Flash actor Ezra Miller, 29, has taken control of Tokata Iron Eyes, 18, parents claim and ask court for restraining order after they 'plied her with alcohol, marijuana and LSD'" As was noted, it makes it sound like the parents plied her with alcohol. Maybe just using Ezra's name or surname would make more sense because there were too many "theys" in that sentence. You shouldn't have to read it 2-3 times to figure it out.

Yeah that’s what I was saying with the phrasing, grammatically speaking a pronoun refers to the last mentioned noun, not necessarily the “subject matter noun” Seriously the person who wrote that headline could have put more effort into it XD

My daughter has a friend that identifies as non-binary and wants people to use they/them (rather than she/her). It's been an adjustment for me as I've known them since they were 6ish. But, I'm trying very hard to use them as it's what they want. I mess up, but I correct myself and my kid says that her friend is happy that people try.
It's a learning process for me, but I want to be open minded enough to respect the people around me and my kids.
