I made fried cabbage with smoked sausage so I’m getting ready to pig out. Polish? I am loving my Instant Pot, made a big batch of sausage casserole (not sure that it will translate but it's like a slow cooked sausage stew) with chili & garlic sausage. I also got a load of "old English" sausages from the same butcher (locally made) to do the same as I got 4 meals out of the 1st one. Really loving it. Still need to try out the air fryer attachment but it's good.

We just enjoyed a lovely bowl of cawl, a lovely, traditional, comforting Welsh stew- pronounced 'cowl'. This recipe serves six. The word 'cawl' literally translates as 'Welsh Soup'. Ingredients- Lamb pieces(600-700 grams) two chopped leeks one chopped onion three chopped carrots six chopped potatoes two chopped parsnips one small chopped swede parsley. roughly chopped salt and pepper vegetable stock(not essential- the veg/meat provides more than enough gorgeousness)! There are no rules as to the amount of veg. you can add- just add what you like most and build Place the lamb pieces in a pot with enough stock/water to cover them. Bring to the boil and then simmer for 40 minutes. Add the veg/herbs and boil for as long as it takes until the veg has softened- usually 20-25 minutes, check regularly that the pot doesn't run dry. Serve with some delicious crusty bread and you'll swear that you've died and gone to Heaven! A simple recipe, but soooooo comforting- plus it's even tastier the next day!

^Those look interesting.
I ordered out today because I forgot to make my lunch last night and there's a place near me that lets you byo salad for pretty cheap (relative to how it feels like every meal is $30 after tax and tip these days) and I saw that they have anchovies, which I love...but I think they put a whole tin of them on my salad. I feel like I'm eating a salt lick and if I think it's salty then this must be heart stopping salty. The rest of it is nice.

Eggroll in a bowl, with plenty of sesame oil. And ice crean for dessert, cause lunch was healthy. 😎

5 day old bolognese sauce. 🤨 I made a bunch because house guests, but there is still some left. It has lots of wine, so it should be safe (?). But if I never come back, you guys will know why. 😁

I survived the bolognese, so now I am eating a buttered baguette radish sandwich. 😁

I survived the bolognese, so now I am eating a buttered baguette radish sandwich. 😁 Bolognese is pretty hardy stuff. Unless there's fur on it then heat it well and give it a go. I actually prefer to make it a day or two before I plan on eating it as it always tastes better after being left a while.

But I thought five days was pushing it a bit. I usually freeze extras, but I wasn’t sure how much we were going to eat.
