I'm stating the obvious here but this doesn't sound good.

^I agree, it actually doesn't sound good.
The whole thing sounds kind of weird to me. I live in a cold, snowy place and I've never really heard of anyone getting in a serious accident while plowing snow, but maybe he was somewhere hilly or mountainous?

Yikes. That would explain a serious accident. I wasn’t sure where he lived but wondered if it was Northern California.

I live in the northeastern US and most plowing accidents involve people being run over by them (this actually happened pretty recently to a woman who worked at the hospital my mom worked at for 40 years) or if it's a vehicle on vehicle or solo vehicle collision it's a combination of bad weather and poor choices.

My first thought was that he shoved his hand in a snowblower to clear the exit chute.

That would be terrible, a terrible way to lose an arm or hand at least.

According to a new report from TMZ, Jeremy was plowing the road near his home after a huge snowstorm hit the Northern Nevada area on December 31. The accident details are now coming to light and one neighbor told the publication that Jeremy's plowing vehicle - which is called a "Snowcat" - reportedly ended up running over one of Jeremy's legs and "he was losing a lot of blood from the injury." Jeremy was reportedly plowing due to the massive storm and the need for relatives to get off of the property after the holiday weekend. A different neighbor, who thankfully is a doctor, saw the scene and was able to help Jeremy, according to this report. The doctor reportedly applied a tourniquet to Jeremy's leg to help with any blood loss. A different source then told TMZ that Jeremy's injury is "extensive" and "along with his leg, other parts of his body have been injured." TMZ is also reporting that this is being handled by police as if it's a crime scene and the Snowcat has already been taken into possession. The machines are supposed to have "extensive safety features" to prevent accidents like this from happening. www.justjared.com/2023/01/02/jeremy-renners-accident-details-extensive-leg-injury-blood-loss-more-revealed-in-new-report/#more-1880045

In all honesty, I thought that it would be that the thing just got stuck and he was buried alive in it until they could extricate him - which would he hypothermia and frostbite. But to get run over? The only thing I can figure is that he got out of it to clear something out of the way and it slid into him and over him.

he's lucky a neighbor could help him so quickly with a tourniquet.
wonder if they airlifted him to sac. that is likely the largest nearby hospital.

Apparently he's known for clearing not just his own property in bad weather but local roads as well. From what I've read he sounds well liked locally and has been active in community resources.
I hope he pulls through.
