So yesterday afternoon it dropped from 50 to 9 degree in less than 30 minutes and when I got up this morning it was -14. This polar vortex ain't no joke. Luckily I can work from home because there ain't no way I'm going out in this mess.

It's in the 30s here but supposed to drop to -4 later today with a major snowstorm to hit starting this afternoon through Saturday morning I think. We're stocked up on everything we need and my biggest fear is losing power. Christmas might be cancelled, we had some plans for Christmas Eve but I'm making no commitments at this point. Was planning to stay home and cook a prime rib on Sunday, so we can still do that. If we have power of course.

44 here and by evening in single digits. Also some damn snow too, Im stuck at work doing nothing!!!! So pissed I even had to risk coming in today, and will be leaving by no later than 330 pm already put up a sign and told my boss. Ridiculous to expect people to risk their lives for what, a day open and no customers? No thanks!!!! I refuse to do anything at all unless forced (like actual human through the door). And not happy about that either, Holly Jolly Horseshit!!!!!!!

11 below, feels like 29 below. 2 feet of snow on ground. Sunny now but blizzard warning. I am in Western Wisconsin near I94 about 30 miles from the western border with Minnesota.

Chicago suburbs -- the snow started around 11 am, pretty light right now. They called a half day of school so the buses wouldn't have to be taking kids home when it starts really coming down. We haven't had the huge temp drop yet. That's supposed to hit tomorrow.
We're stocked up and hunkered down.

Outside of Portland, OR. Freezing rain just started an hour or so ago. Won't be driving anywhere anytime in the next 2 days. Saturday is suppose to warm up for us at least.

Chicago suburbs here, too…I can’t figure out if the snow is done but it’s sooo cold.
My job sent us an email today that they don’t know if they will shut down tomorrow or not…half the country will be out of commission and we have one of those “surprise”short days before Christmas and most of the office is on vacation anyway and long story short, I don’t see why we need to be open and letting me know at 5am tomorrow is stupid. They didn’t even tell us how they will notify us. But if we don’t hear from them, we have to make sure to give ourselves plenty of time to drive through the blowing snow to be there on time.
Plus my sinus infection seems to have traveled into my throat and I had to go to the grocery store after work and I’m just real grumpy. It’s going to be -11° when I have to go to work. Ffs.
I hit reply and the fucking power went out. Oh my fucking god.

It's -5 without windchill today, but it doesn't seem to be blowing as much as predicted and we only got a few inches of snow.

Iowa here. I don't know what the temp is other than fucking cold and it's windy as fuck. I was supposed to have a work appt this morning. They cancelled. Yea me! I have no plans to leave the house til Tuesday, and I'm just going to keep putting wood in the fireplace.

Central TX, 58 yesterday a.m., down to low 20’s by the afternoon, and 11 overnight. It won’t go above 25 today. Heat pump is struggling and cold water pipes are frozen, so zero cold water, but hot water is working. Hopefully there won’t be leaks. We are planning to add more insulation in spring, houses here are not built for very cold temps but they are occurring every winter now.
