I just saw on Twitter that Britney’s dad had his leg amputated last month. It’s on PageSix and TMZ but I’m at work and can’t copy pasta.

Is he diabetic? TMZ said he had issues which stemmed from a knee replacement years ago.

Is he diabetic? TMZ said he had issues which stemmed from a knee replacement years ago. Thanks. I went back and read a little more. He had a ruptured colon about 10 years ago, and now this infection from the knee replacement, resulting in an amputation. I think the prognosis is worse. |

I always remember the ruptured colon thing because it sounds like hell. It is. My dad had this happen in late 2018. He got rushed to surgery and fought off sepsis for two weeks and actually briefly recovered. He was 77 so this was no easy feat - he was kind of a badass dude. But he then died after being transferred from ICU to the rehab floor. Trust me when I tell you the pain is ungodly. This was a man with a pain tolerance beyond anything I've ever seen, yet he was having my mom blow through red lights to get to the hospital after it happened. It's still hard to think about. |

I’m so sorry your dad went through that, firebrat. I can’t imagine how horrible that would be to go through and I definitely wouldn’t wish it on anyone.

i listened to britney's memoir. first of all, michelle williams does a pretty amazing job. second, even if this is just britney's version and all that, jamie is a fucking awful asshole and i hope the photo with lynn isn't the start of her falling back into her awful family's orbit. poor britney's a mess but her parents are the fucking worst and jamie's an abusive narcissist and neither of them deserves a dime, which is the only thing they want from poor britney anyway. or an ounce of sympathy.

Smokers can end up with amputations too. Anything that affects the vascular system is going to increase your risks.
It seems like Covid (especially the people pre-vaccine availability or those who didn't take the vaccine the first-second go round) did this to a lot of people too. The frequency with which they've been chopping limbs off folks increased a lot with Covid.

The frequency with which they've been chopping limbs off folks increased a lot with Covid. Yeah, there are a bunch of hits for avascular necrosis and knee replacement as consequences of long COVID. |

Yep, my Austin personal trainer left me back in 2020 because his parents got Covid, his dad's case was much more severe while in hospital but mom ended up with long Covid. She had a foot amputated earlier this year. |
