Because she's Britney, she doesn't need to follow the rules.

I don't even think she needs to be driving based on evverything I've seen.
Why don't all these people with money have someone to drive them places. FFS.

What the hell Britt? You ALWAYS have your license, registration and proof of insurance on you or in the car when you drive in California (and Oregon). How did you not learn or know that? Because like 90 percent of "celebs" they are surrounded by yes-men and are never told no. The rules don't apply to them. I work on the fringes of the industry and it's insidious. I always realized it before I started in this department but since then I see it almost daily. Most times I can just laugh, sometimes not. Therefore when someone holds her (or any of them) accountable by treating them like everyone else it becomes a shocked-pikachu-face situation.

Actually, you should never leave your registration or insurance paperwork in your car at all times. Should your car be stolen or broken into, thieves know where you live. It is even more risky when you have a garage door opener in the vehicle.
It's completely legal and appropriate to have cell phone pictures or electronic insurance cards.

It is even more risky when you have a garage door opener in the vehicle. It's completely legal and appropriate to have cell phone pictures or electronic insurance cards. Ironically, the biggest threat to keeping your registration in your car is that a thief could break in and steal your registration. Then, go to the auto dealership and use the paperwork to request a key. Then, drive off in your car the next day as if they owned the thing. There was a spate of it here some years ago. You would think that the dealership would request your driver's license in addition to your registration.....

Britney Spears is sharing a painful experience she's kept private for 20 years.
In her upcoming memoir The Woman in Me, the pop icon, 41, reveals that when she dated Justin Timberlake, she became pregnant with his baby but had an abortion, PEOPLE confirms.
“But Justin definitely wasn’t happy about the pregnancy. He said we weren’t ready to have a baby in our lives, that we were way too young," Spears writes of the pregnancy in the book.
A rep for Timberlake did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.
The “Toxic” singer was 17 when she started dating the then-18-year-old *NSYNC alum in 1999, and they were together until 2002. In the book, Spears reveals she had an abortion because Timberlake wanted her to.
After Spears and Timberlake split in 2002, she went on to become a mother, welcoming two sons — Sean Preston, 18, and Jayden James, 17 — with her second husband, Kevin Federline.
Spears will release her much-anticipated memoir on Oct. 24, through Gallery Books, an imprint of Simon & Schuster.

You all know how much I hate JT, but I won't judge him for this. He had the right to not want an accidental baby. And he had a point, they were too young. If Britney agreed, they did what they both wanted just like everyone should have the right to do.

Ah, I'm so excited for these book promo tidbits that are going to keep coming out between now and next Tuesday!!
I don't blame JT for not wanting to have a baby, and I don't like how this is worded that she did it because HE wanted her to. They were teenagers at the peak of their careers, was she seriously thinking of having a kid at that time???

i bet everyone will jump on Timberlake for this but this was absolutely the right move and he dodged a bullet and did britney and the unborn foetus a favour in the process.

Maybe the Free Britney idiots but I think most people with any sense agree it was the right thing to do.

Totally the right thing to do for both of them at the time. Busy careers, really young, not really committed to each other... They saved themselves, and that accidental baby a whole lot of misery.

over on the Britney Spears reddit they're all dragging JT. He made a smart decision based on his own age and career, ultimately Britney agreed to do it.
That Brit reddit is full of crazies, like they're unhinged.

That Brit reddit is full of crazies, like they're unhinged. They are definitely unhinged. I don't hate him for this, but I do think there was a power imbalance and I do hate him for his subsequent actions throwing Britney under the bus after they broke up.

they're not even a full year apart in age and were both mega-famous at that point. what power imbalance? she had just as much agency to refuse if she'd wanted to. her younger sister got knocked up at 16 and no one was able to talk her out of going through with it.

This is a major reveal. Naturally the fetus worshipping crowd is going to be shitting bricks over it.
Even though I don't care for JT, this was absolutely the right decision. No doubt she's thinking about it now though, since she's getting to that age where there likely aren't going to be anymore chances for having another baby. Though I don't rule out that she could do something crazy to get her another. I don't see her having an easy time with getting older.
If people are dragging him or her they're pretty dumb. There were no doubt way more people in charge who influenced this outcome. Those were the beginning of Britters' prime years. There is no way Lynn or Jamie were allowing this. Probably not JT's parents either for that matter, but they probably didn't need to do much cause Lynn and Jamie were no doubt on this. She wasn't quite old and bold enough to do what she wanted yet. Even that first marriage the fam swooped in and had it sqsuashed.
The first marriage was a trial run, but I think her finally rebelling happened with Kevin. But now that I know about this, it explains a lot.
