Hopefully it will only last another couple of days & we can then go back to moaning about the rain, lack of sun, cold, wind, fog etc ...

I've been keeping a couple of packs of wet wipes in the fridge for a quick cooldown and sweat mopping. I also needed to nip to the local shop - about a 3 minute walk each way - and even though I left it until after 8pm I was still nearly on my knees on the way back. And I noticed that the field opposite my house is tinder dry so no doubt the fire brigade will have to come out soon. And the heat has made my feet swell up like puddings. But my kitties are doing ok. They've found all the cool spots in the house, which they should enjoy while they can because as soon as I find out which one of them managed to knock over a nearly full bottle of fabric softener which then exploded across the kitchen... I started doing the wet wipes in the fridge thing a couple of years ago when I saw them handing out cool cloths to the guests on the yachts on Below Deck and idk why it took me 30 something years to figure it out. Everyone should do it. Rant: My three year old is finally ready for her first hair cut and I've had an appointment with my hairdresser for about a month now and she was supposed to go this afternoon but my hairdresser cancelled. She's so disappointed. My hairdresser pulls this shit on me all the time but it's a different story when my little lady is disappointed. I just hope she doesn't cancel again come Friday.

I really feel for y'all. We get some extreme heat and humidity in the summer (near 90F this week) but not too much 100F+. Personally, I don't think I could live without A/C, especially since menopause kicked my ass. When I was younger, I could sit on the beach all day in 90F heat and barely break a sweat, now I can't be out there for more than 5 minutes and the sweat's dripping into my eyes. Several years ago we had a big storm that knocked out the power for 3-4 days during a heat wave and after one day of roughing it and cooking out on the grill we said fuck it, took the dog and checked into a motel.

Bloke is working away at the moment, travelling in his car with AC, going into temperature controlled hospital and laboratory environments and then back to his AC'd hotel. Except for tonight as the place he's just checked into doesn't have AC and he sent me a grumpy text about it thinking I'm going to be sympathetic while I sit here slowly steaming at home.
HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!
No.

Rave >> got the most gorgeous vintage silks, some silk satin, mousseline, and even a tartan silk mousseline, just gorgeous, and ethical, no bugs were boiled to death to make those silks <3 (I don't mind that it's not as shiny or smooth as silk is when you boil the larvae. It's smooth enough XD)
Rant >> It is * A BITCH * to work with XD Event cutting on the grain is a motherfucking pain in the ass, I am definitely gonna have some unwanted stretch here and there

Not that I go to fancy places on a regular basis, but I could still do with one item in a nicer fabric. - and for the sheet tartan mousseline I have to crazy idea to be trying something like that: I have absolutely zero idea where or when I’d wear that (I mean I could wear it to work actually XD) butI just love the draped tartan and the tulle skirt, so that’s my inspiration. I also just received worbla and foam clay, because I have crazy cosplay projects XD And I want to try and recreate an Iris Van Herpen kind of dress, I am OBSESSED with that designer, and I just loved Grimes’ met gala Bene Gesserit dress. So I need to figure out how to do that XD I NEED A WORKSHOP SPACE ! Swede and I have been living in 55square mètres for over 5 years now, we only have one bedroom and I have shit everywhere ^^’

I just googled grime's photo as I didn't remember the dress. Stunning, if you need help working it out let me know but I would think that the fullness counts on inset godets (is that even a word?) to get the fit in the bodice + the flow in the skirt
Ooh speaking of satin, I do love a good duchess satin garment!

Not really rant-worthy but no pet peeves/annoying shit thread so... This shit right here <eyeroll/gag> is so fucking stupid And something about the fact that they're flesh toned just makes it creepy. I want to put a pink bow and eyelashes on these.

Former co-worker asked me to put $75 on my credit card for her reservation for a charter bus trip to NYC. She’s camping with her family this week and the internet connection is spotty. I told her it can wait until she gets home. For F—k’s Sake.
