Ioan Gruffudd granted 3yr restraining order against ex wife

Ioan Gruffudd has successfully obtained a three-year restraining order against estranged wife Alice Evans, which also bans her from mentioning him on social media.

The Welsh actor, 48, hopes the new restrictions will end the public falling out between the pair, whose acrimonious split in March 2021 and consequent slanging matches threatened to overshadow their respective careers.

Ioan had previously won a temporary restraining order against Alice, 54, the mother of his two daughters Ella, 12, and Elsie, eight, in February claiming he was inundated with messages and verbal threats from her.



But on Tuesday, a US judge confirmed harsher restrictions had been put in place, including a ruling preventing Alice from leaking private text messages from their children.

He demanded Alice should not make any posts on any social media account, 'including but not limited to Instagram and Twitter accounts, disparaging or harassing [Ioan] or the other protected person.'

The other person is listed as Ioan’s new girlfriend, Bianca Wallace, who he started dating shortly after their split.

Plus, he requested Alice not to post his text messages or any other communications to the parties’ children, or the children’s text messages or any other communications to Ioan, on any social media account.

He also asked for the judge to order Alice not to contact his employer or make disparaging statements about him to his employers.

Further in court documents, Ioan said since the restraining order was put in place, Alice 'has used her social media accounts to continue to harass, threaten, and disturb the peace of both me and my girlfriend, Bianca Wallace.'

Oof.  She needs help.  That alleged text from Ioan that she put up sounds reasonable to me, but I don't know anything about either of them.

waterslide I agree - that was a parent laying down a reasonable boundary. There was no Alec Baldwinesque "thoughtless little pig" comments, no swearing, just a parent saying "You are behaving badly and these are both the consequences and the solution". Mind you, it's a good job that the kids are in therapy because they are going to need it for a long, long time to come.

Anyway Alice is going to end up back in court sooner rather than later because her immediate reaction to being hit with a restraining order that said she had to stop harassing Ioan over social media was to - wait for it - post a video bitching about Ioan. Oh and the part about not being allowed to contact his employers? The gossip is that she's been trying to get hold of the directors and producers of any projects he's involved in so she can give them an earful about him too.

The crazy train has definitely left the station.

Wow. Nothing like calling your ex-spouse's workplace to let everyone know how crazy you are. The insta video was bad enough. The shakiness and the woe-is-me "shock" and crying is a lot. And yeah, that text is far from damning against him.

calling the spouse's work place is def weird. once i worked at a start up (<50 employees, an uber hot silicon valley place that was on the bleeding edge) where that happened ... i reported to the CSO, i guess he and his wife were going through an acrimonious divorce. so one day she leaves a message on ALL the employees' VM, basically saying how the CSO was feckless scum and she couldn't believe we actually would choose to work with him.

i kid you not.

but at one point, these two crazy kids reconciled. i am not making this up.

Toxic attracts toxic sometimes? I cannot imagine ever talking to my significant other again if they pulled that shit.

I have been sitting here trying to remember which of my friends had this problem with their girlfriend back when I was in my 20s. I'm glad I don't remember the particulars, but I'm pretty sure the guy didn't break up with the girlfriend over it. The sad thing is this could fit for a few of my former friends. Yuck.

I think Elsa Pataky is an heiress maybe?  Chris Hemsworth's wife...

Alice Evans is an actress and her father is a mathematician and her mom is a teacher, so I don't know if she's got money hiding somewhere.   I think she's attached to the idea of being married to Ioan.
