Here's what I don't get. Even the 2A says WELL REGULATED, so clearly the founding fathers had the intent to regulate weapons, not be a free for all for any tom, dick and harry.

I wonder if vigilantes will ever just start setting fire to these gun warehouses and stores or the NRA headquarters? Someone should ask the Catholic Church where are all the protesters outside the Remington and Smith & Wesson factories? Where are the giant signs with pictures of shot-up kids? What a sham.

I’ve read countless “he was an illegal and the media is covering it up and this is Biden’s fault, trump 2024” on various political forums. These people are nuts and they will never agree to meaningful gun control measures.

just like with sandy hook the worst of the right was claiming it was actors and it was fake. it's easier to play dumb, make up crazy conspiracy theories and deny something exists than to admit you hold odious world views. denialism 101.

So to my overseas friends, where's a good place to live? Totally serious. Between my reproductive rights being taken away, and if the GOP end up back in charge, Gilead isn't that far off. I feel like we may need an exit plan. I’ve been living in Germany since December 2017. I went back to the U.S. in November 2021, and hated most of the time there while out in public. I was actually scared, because the city where I grew up has a high crime rate, and worried about if there will be a shoot out while out shopping. I now live in a little town with my son and husband. The cost of living is cheaper, medicine, insurance, all kids get Kinder Geld (monthly, all kids get money from the government, regardless of status until they are 18, or finished with college). It’s clean here (there are dirty parts, like any other country), recycling is on point, many vacation days, and national holidays. Public drinking is allowed, and you can even enjoy a beer on the bus. Yes ma’am. It’s not about go, go, go, rush. Gosh, I could go on about the wonderful things living here. I do not ever want to move back to the U.S.

My god, I thought there’s no way that happened. That poor family. They had four children.

Police made the "wrong decision" by failing to storm a classroom in Robb Elementary School as a gunman killed 19 children inside, the chief Texas safety official has said. "If I thought it would help, I would apologise," Steven McCraw said during a heated press conference Friday. He confirmed a 40 minute gap from the police unit's arrival to when they entered the classroom. Pupils inside made multiple calls begging for police to come. The delay in response, now confirmed in a new timeline offered by authorities, has raised even more questions about why 18-year-old Salvador Ramos was inside the school for so long before he was killed - not by local officers, but by a tactical unit led by US border agents. The gunman crashed his car near the school at about 11:30 local time, Mr McCraw disclosed, and entered the school shortly after - but it was not until 12:51 that a tactical unit breached the door, entering and killing him. The delay happened in part because the commanding officer on scene believed the situation was no longer one involving an "active shooter", he said. The description is at odds with the disclosure that at least four emergency 911 calls were made from within the school - apparently from children barricaded inside the classroom where the gunman was firing - asking for police to come. www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-61613177

I've seen rumors that parents are being asked for DNA to help identify the dead children because they are so disfigured. As someone who has seen firsthand what a bullet can do to a body, I can't imagine what such a high impact weapon could have on a 10yo body.

As someone who has seen firsthand what a bullet can do to a body, I can't imagine what such a high impact weapon could have on a 10yo body. I've heard that too. Absolutely heartbreaking. I'm upset by the reports I've been hearing about the police response.
