Get in here, Shellee! I know you want to talk about the show but I don't want to post any spoilers until I know you've seen today's episode.

I love her too. Amazing Amy. Smiling sweetly while she's kicking ass. And she doesn't jump around the board looking for the daily doubles, they just come to her because she's answering most of the questions. Now that she's officially in 2nd place on # games won, I wonder if Ken is getting nervous. It would be great to see her break his record while he's hosting lol.

i would love it if she beat ken. but i think they need to get better contestants. it's like she kills the others after 6 questions.
i wanna know if they told ken to cool it with the snark or he figured it out on his own. i like him even less after seeing him interact with amy.
also: the rebuttals amy gave (i think on twitter) to those who asked if she used to be a dude. amazing. she is my new hero.

Yeah, but it's been the same way with other long-time champs too, they just start wiping the floor with the others because they're so damn smart and get so quick on the buzzer. Amy seems to win by a landslide even when she doesn't get the daily doubles. I can only remember one game of hers that was a nail-biter.
Ken is just a smug jerk. OG of all time ya know. I'd love to see her wipe that smug right off his face.
I've seen some pretty nasty comments too, but she just makes them look like the fools they are.

i dunno. i remember some eps where yalie had some competition. but maybe i am mis-remembering. we need shellee to weigh in.
i am not a fan of ken, either. so SMUG. it's like he takes pointers from the GOOP playbook. me no likey.

Thanks Trixie for this thread! I love Amy and fight people in the jeopardy Facebook page. I hope she beats ken and yes, he hasn’t been as smarmy.

I really dislike him as a host. I watch it less because of him

After he won the GOAT tournament, he apparently vowed that was the last time he would be a contestant on Jeopardy. The long time executive producer was getting ready to retire, but before he did, he asked Jennings to join the show as a consulting producer to keep him connected to Jeopardy.
So, it was basically a way to keep Jennings tied to the show, and I suspect at least some of that was because of Alex's illness - so there was someone the fans knew that was closely associated to the show to focus on when Alex was no longer there.

Thanks Trixie for this thread! I love Amy and fight people in the jeopardy Facebook page. I hope she beats ken and yes, he hasn’t been as smarmy. About time you showed up, Missy! Those FB Jeopardy pages...even on the complainers page someone got pissed at me for saying WOF people weren't as smart as Amy. They take that shit seriously! Re Ken, yeah he's the GOAT but there are plenty other champs IMO who could do a good job hosting and it seems they didn't even try them during the post-Alex period. I thought Buzzy Cohen did a nice job when he hosted TOC. I dunno, maybe none of them wanted the gig but that would kinda surprise me. What about Brad?

I thought Buzzy Cohen did a nice job when he hosted TOC. I dunno, maybe none of them wanted the gig but that would kinda surprise me. What about Brad? The problem with past champs hosting is that once they become employed by the program, they can't compete anymore, so no more special tournaments for them. I don't know how guest hosting would compare to full-time hosting in terms of the employment exclusion, but they might be excluded just because of how it would look...since as a host they would have had completely different access to the writers and producers than they would as a contestant.
Personally, of all of the guest hosts, my favorite was David Faber. He's not a big name, I didn't know who he was, but that's part of what I liked about him - he read the answers well and didn't overshadow the game. The week he hosted was one of the few weeks during that period that didn't feel like a stunt because for the first time in a long time, it didn't seem to be about the host, and the game was the focus again.
