I'm downright thankful I'm not there anymore. I liked it for keeping up with current events and breaking news.

Apparently the head of the Apple App Store has quit Twitter and the Apple account has blanked/deleted its tweets. People are now speculating that Apple might pull Twitter from the App Store, leaving Musk with even more shit on his plate.
Not only that, but the Germany-based workers who were laid off are apparently in talks about launching a class action over it (European employment laws are a LOT stricter than US laws) and the almost complete lack of moderation staff could cause Musk some equally big problems as Germany has very strict laws about how quickly hate speech and misinformation has to be taken down on social media after being reported.

Tesla recalls over 321,000 vehicles due to taillight software issue / Tesla’s rolling out an over-the-air software update to fix the glitch, which affects certain Model 3 and Model Y vehicles.

Tesla’s recalling over 321,000 vehicles over a software glitch causing the taillights on some cars to illuminate improperly (via Reuters). According to a filing with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the recall covers certain 2023 Model 3 vehicles and 2020 to 2023 Model Y vehicles.
Tesla says the rear lights on one or both sides of the vehicle may “intermittently illuminate” due to an issue “that may cause false fault detections during the vehicle wake up process.” The NHTSA says this could “increase the risk of a collision” in dark conditions, but Tesla hasn’t received any reports of injuries or accidents related to this problem. Like most Tesla recalls (except this one affecting the Model 3’s seat belt buckles), the company’s addressing the issue with an over-the-air (OTA) software update.
This is the electric vehicle maker's 19th recall this year. Last week, Tesla recalled almost 30,000 Model X vehicles over an issue that could cause the front passenger airbag to improperly deploy in “low-speed” collisions, potentially resulting in injury if a small child is in the front seat. It also recalled more than 40,000 Model X and S cars because of a problem that could cause the loss of power steering when driving over bumpy roads or after hitting a pothole.

Not sure if somebody's already posted the link but I've been visiting this site multiple times a day: twitterisgoinggreat.comAlso Reddit: White People TwitterIt's about all kinds of odd, funny or controversial things that pop up on Twitter but if you scroll through you can also find a lot of reactions to how Musky is handling things and details that are only making it to the news a day or two later. They've now expanded it to include Mastodon in case Musky really does manage to bring down the whole of the Twitter platform. They also like to share tweets trolling the new Supreme overlord. Like this one.

Things seems to be getting a little more legally fraught for Twitter. Not only is there word of class action suits from German and Belgian staff over the mass sackings, there's also the matter of the staff who took Musk's deal of leaving with three months severance but then rejoined after being asked to return by Musk. Many of them have apparently found themselves being fired again, but this time with only four weeks severance. It seems that the idea behind it is that rejoining and then being fired again negates the original offer... Furthermore, Musk has tweeted that verification of accounts to receive a check mark will be done manually. As there's barely any staff left to keep Twitter running right now this opens the possibility that verification will be outsourced to somewhere like India where wages are very low. A lot of people are understandably concerned about the security surrounding the submission of their personal details and the probability of identity theft/their details being sold on the Dark Web. If you think about how much information you can gain about someone just from the details you can glean from, say, their driver's license, it's a worrying thought. Meanwhile Musk isn't letting any of this slow him down from trolling anyone who decides to leave Twitter. Nine Inch Nail singer Trent Reznor has left the platform for the sake of his mental health and Musk has used it to play Mean Girl online. Actor Will Wheaton called Musk out via Facebook. Recently Musk also garnered a flake of sympathy and respect by stating that Alex Jones would not be allowed to return to Twitter and giving his reason why. His ex-wife Justine had a different take on it...

Pretty sure Apple doesn't have to advertise on twitter to sell any of their products. Elon picking a fight means nothing to Apple. He's just butthurt that another company would dare to not carry his product. And...maybe he should look into what freedom of speech actually means, I'm 100% certain that it does not include one company not supporting another company. It means you have freedom to speak out against the government and not be jailed for it.

It amazes me that so many people don't know what freedom of speech actually means.

I know, and it's not even like it's a complicated concept to understand, but swing "free speech" in front of Repugs and they'll be all up in arms against "woke propaganda" in no time, without needing to have any clue about what any of those terms mean. And Elon actually knows that. I don't think he's half as smart as he says he is, but he definitely understands his fan base.

the conservatives are banning abortion, plotting to take away birth control, chipping away at voting rights and trying to overthrow every election they lost. This fucking whiny crybaby musk needs to shut the fuck up about Apple declining to advertise with fucking twitter threatening “the future of civilization” and being “tyranny”. fucking douche needs a major reality check.

I guess Musk is unaware that in the 1990's Henry Hyde placed language in the Communications Decency Act to ban online speech about abortion (a legal procedure - think about it). The Clinton Administration's justice department refused to enforce it.
