Musk wrote on Twitter late on Thursday that he was not worried about resignations as “the best people are staying”. By "best" he means the ones who are on work visas and can't suddenly walk out without having to leave the country.

Or, who have a sick spouse and need to the healthcare.
I read that the entire finance team quit. Whose going to pay the bills or approve payroll in 2 weeks?

yeah, it creates a lot of problems. i feel bad for the poor H1N1 peeps because their visas are tied to the gig. the rest obvs just said You Suck and left. my friends who used to have the H1N1 issue told me they had to endure plenty of crummy behavior (my industry, but still) and dealt with it because they had no choice. but it creates really bad feelings down the road.
as an aside, twitter is located on a kind of crappy street off of market. not sure how they will do without the security team there (who i heard quit).

Just a nit - the visa is H1B. H1N1 is swine flu.
The visa issue sucks for those employees. They are stuck there until they can find another employer that will sponsor them. They can't leave their jobs because they have short time after losing employment to find another sponsor before they are forced to return home. So, they're trapped, and a lot of times they are treated like crap.

Musk is repellent. He and Trump deserve each other.

I was never a big twitter user but enjoyed some of the communities I'd built there. I closed my account this morning and that feels good. Now I have to look at my use of FB and IG... I've never felt great about them but for promoting my artwork FB is really the best. Sigh. I don't sell art for the personal profit (all proceeds go toward funding creative endeavors by poc creatives) so I wouldn't feel the hit personally but I really would like to continue funding these other projects. Gods it's hard to know the best route to take with this social media shit. But being off twitter feels right.

I never was a big user either. It was hard to get off at first, but after a while I don't miss it. I started awhile back with deleting the app off my phone, then I kept looking at it in the browser. After the sale went through I deactivated my account altogether. Now I'm trying to get away from IG and FB the same way--delete the apps, look at in browser, use declines, quit.
