Or is Amber still talking about him too and I just don't hear about it because whatever she's said or alluded to in some interview is overshadowed by this crazy and prolonged shitshow involving courts where they're resurrecting and turning over and examining (and making public) every last detail of a relationship that ended 6 years ago?  

Since she's supposed to be the toxic one here (or additionally) I'm curious to know.

The whole thing is so ridiculous, and the second-hand-cringe is thru the roof. Does he honestly believe his life falling to pieces is Amber's fault? I don't really care for her, but Johnny Depp torpedoed his own career/life. He squandered multiple millions, he tanked his relationship with Vanessa, he drank too much, got drugged up too often, hung out with fellow nasty people (I'm looking at YOU, Marilyn Manson, which nobody should have to do.)

Johnny tanked himself, though she certainly didn't help matters.

Neither one of them comes out smelling like a rose.

I agree there is no hero vs. villain here, they both suck. I also think she shouldn't have poked the bear with that op-ed two years after the divorce. And talking about something that happened to her two years ago it was quite obvious who she was talking about. At the very least, Johnny should have learned to just stop when he lost his lawsuit against The Sun in the UK. Now he is just giving Amber the opportunity to tell more stories about his abuse (the liquor bottle incident, good lord who would want that made public, and whether it's true or not, it's out there now).

I think most people have already made up their minds, no matter what the outcome, or really don't give a rats ass and want these two and their grievances to just go away. I don't know why Johnny thinks all this will somehow exonerate him. It's all he-said she-said anyway and it's just putting all these salacious details back in the headlines.

There’s a lot to consider in a high-profile trial like the one between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard. The former couple is in the midst of pursuing defamation lawsuits against each other –– for millions of dollars.

It’s quite obvious they aren’t on good terms in 2022! In order to defend themselves in court, they both have invited people close to them to speak up in court on their behalf. These are some of the celebrity witnesses who are involved in the case, according to TMZ.

It looks like James Franco will be stepping up to speak about Amber in court. He cultivated a friendship with her when they were in Pineapple Express together. The 2008 movie was one of the earliest projects of her career. According to People, Amber confided in James after an alleged physical altercation with Johnny about the facial bruising she had.

This isn’t the first time James has appeared in court. He dealt with a few legal troubles himself in 2021. According to USA Today, he agreed to pay $2.2 million to settle a sexual misconduct lawsuit. The lawsuit was filed against him by some of his former acting students. They attended his Los Angeles acting school where they were apparently told to engage in exploitive scenes on camera.

When most people think of Elon Musk, they think of the Tesla CEO and billionaire. From Amber's perspective, he’s a good friend she can trust to testify on her behalf. The reason Elon has been dragged into the case in the first place is that Johnny accused him of having an affair with Amber back in 2020. The accusation was enough to make major headlines at the time. It was never actually confirmed though.

TV lovers likely recognize Ellen Barkin from her hardcore role as the cutthroat matriarch in Animal Kingdom. It turns out Ellen is also a good friend to Amber. She’s another star who will be speaking up on Amber‘s behalf in court.

The actor who plays Vision in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is Paul Bettany. He’ll be speaking in court on behalf of Johnny. The two actors have starred in a handful of movies together including The Tourist in 2010, Transcendence in 2014, and Mortdecai in 2015. After working on so many projects together, it’s obvious that a friendship between the two men developed.

Back in 2016, Paul tweeted, “Known Johnny Depp for years and through several relationships. He's the sweetest, kindest, gentlest man that I've ever known. Just saying.” His decision to support Johnny through this entire ordeal speaks volumes about their friendship.

Bettany, who is currently promoting A Very British Scandal, told the Independent it was “a really difficult subject to talk about” and said he was concerned doing so would “just pour fuel on the fire”.

A series of aggressive and unpleasant texts exchanged between Bettany and Depp, his friend and sometime co-star, were read aloud in court in 2020 by barristers for News Group International, which Depp was suing after a column by Dan Wootton in the Sun referred to him as a “wife beater”.

One message, sent in 2013, made lewd reference to Heard’s “beaver”, and discussed her murder by “burning” or “drowning”.
“I’m not sure we should burn Amber,” wrote Bettany. “She is delightful company and pleasing on the eye. We could of course do the English course of action and perform a drowning test. Thoughts? You have a swimming pool.”
Depp replied: “Let’s drown her before we burn her!!! I will fuck her burnt corpse afterwards to make sure she’s dead.”
To which Bettany apparently wrote back: “My thoughts entirely. Let’s be certain before we pronounce her a witch.”
Depp was asked in court whether Bettany was one of his “drug buddies”, and he said that the pair had taken drugs together and drunk alcohol.

Wow, those texts between Depp and Bettany are awful. I would be horrified if my husband was texting anything even remotely close to that to a friend. Like, it's not cool to talk about drowning someone, I thought that went without saying.

i get why someone would be inclined to testify on behalf of their friend especially if you're close and you've known them for years but just because someone's an awesome friend to you doesn't mean they don't have an abusive relationship with their spouse.

Well obvs she's been in more relationships than just the one with him. Hell, she's probably had more than one since splitting with him. If smart he would have never acknowledged any of this. Anything she said would have been long forgotten by now. His entire past with her would be a blip on the radar by now.   And he could have been back making blockbusters.

But obviously he has time on his hands since he's not busy fixing his hot mess life so he can get his career back. I mean wtf....does he spend all his day staring at a wall covered in defaced photos of her while he puts pins in a voodoo doll?

So barring having a life (or at least faking the appearance of one) he threw an epic bitch fit and dragged all this into some weird ass court case, so that whole stupid and sordid relationship from YEARS AGO will once again be dissected and laid out for the public. Is there no one in his life who can advise him?

Was he still married to Vanessa when he started with her? I'm wondering if that's a factor to why he's bitter now. Cause obviously Vanessa has moved on so he can't do that ex-recycling thing that some narcs like to do to save face when they get dumped.
