I remember my mum bringing home some brawn once. I almost tried it but then found out what it was and backed away sharpish. I think that Oma used to make Head Cheese too. I think I had to be in the mood but I like things in aspic so don't remember not eating it I think that the only thing was steak + kidney pie + I hated the kidney so Oma made one with a special leaf design + no kidney for me. I'd forgotten about that I must have been around 2 - 3 as Opa was still alive. I can't believe that we have finally found something that Sput won't eat!

Ugh. I just wrote a long post and my VPN fucked me over
What I was going to say was that I always had a full-on phobia of headcheese, but ended up trying it at a charcuterie place (it was on the menu as "fromage de tête") and because it was on the frou frou side, it didn't look like something from Hannibal Lecter's grandmother's Jell-O mold cookbook. And I actually liked it. It was a lot like pâté. I love the smell of liver and onions and had a bite of it one time when I was out with my Dad years ago and it was fine. I love liver, gizzards, ox tail, etc. I also love what I think was the eggs from squid. It was deep fried and tasted just like the rest of it, but I guess people find it gross? I don't mind white chocolate (Lindt stracciatella and some Belgian chocolates I've had), but I know it can be pasty and weird. I love flan, but I love crème brûlée more. I think the final hold outs on things I've eaten that I despise are carrots and rhubarb.

Crème brulé is fruit of the devil!!! Our friendship is over! Custard type consistency- I just can't. That includes blamange, mushy meats (that + the smell means liver + kidney is out for me) . But yeah mainly custard. Oh an skin on hot milky drinks.

^^^ i hate flan because it's like a jelly-ish custard but yeah i don't like custards at all if they're sweet. weirdly enough i can handle savoury custards and mushy meats so it's not just a texture thing, it's texture + sweetness that grosses me out. i only eat the crust on crème brûlée lol i don't love the skin on milky drinks but it doesn't gross me out either.

I told you all she'd be pregnant with a tape worm soon, I wonder if it'll have her eyes?

One day I had the bright idea to feed Princess Zelda the Relentless (my new rescue mutt) fresh kidneys and chicken hearts - what a treat!
I'd only ever handled them already cooked in a pie and gravy, and my old dog was HUGE so she ate them whole, so I was not prepared of how difficult they are to cut into peices! Offal went flying! Best day ever for the dog, not so much for me who had to clean the ceiling.
