Britney Spears signs $15 million tell-all book deal

So the consensus is:-
1) Britney needs to receive & accept professional help
2) her new husband is a gold-digger
3) while the conservatorship was too harsh, she needs some kind of structure to protect her
4) her family haven't helped & he father really is a controlling scumbag
5) Her kids love her but her behaviours (through lack of maturity or due to mental illness) makes it hard for them to be around her right now
6) Everyone one just wants her to get better?

I feel bad for her because obviously she's been through a trauma, but IMO she needs to STFU. I'm honestly getting weary of the constant posts about how horrible things were and how free she is. We get it, and honestly, this isn't helping her case. She needs some serious help and guidance that is appropriate for her.

Speaking only for myself here. But honestly it does bother me when she rages against her kids, posts pics of them when they've been on record that they've asked her not to, and it bothers me when she fat-shames people.  She can say she didn't mean it that way all she wants, but it's there in black and white so we know this to be false.  Does she know it to be false?  I really don't know.  Maybe in her mind she doesn't believe she fat-shamed them?  Could be.  

Yes, I know she's had trauma. Yes, I know her family is garbage and took advantage of the situation.

Admittedly I'm self aware enough to realize I'm likely projecting because my adult son is mentally ill and rages at me and my ex husband on SM sometimes. So it's basically the same situation in reverse. And I'm here to tell you - it fucking SUCKS.  And I'm 53, not a teenager so I can only imagine how her kids feel. Not expecting anyone to feel sorry for me, but it's a situation I'll have to deal with the rest of my natural life and it does get overwhelming.

For my part, I'm happy to try to tone down my ranting. I do feel badly for her like I feel for any mentally ill person. I just feel more badly for her kids.

i get that. mentally ill people can be totally infuriating. i've seen that with my brother, and before that with my uncle (dad's brother) who tormented the family for decades with his shit not to mention cost my grandmother probably hundreds of thousands of dollars in treatment, plus cash to bail him out of the stupid shit he did. i think my mom still has a copy of one of his many 'manifestos' and they were each hundreds of pages long. thank god this was all before social media.

Just because someone has a mental illness it doesn't mean that they cannot have other behaviours (like the maturity of a sulky teenager) that one dislikes.

I don't feel anger towards Brit because I believe she is deeply mentally ill and likely has some brain damage from one thing or another.

I think sometimes when I post I'm more talking to the Stans (real or imagined) who seem to take this black and white view that Brit is fine, the rest of the world is just out to get her. That's so off the mark to me...

^^^ Yeah, I get that. It doesn't help (speaking for myself) that she is so glaringly stupid and self-righteous without a glimmer of even pretending she has any kind of issues at all. Plus, her trauma is patently more important than anyone or anything else.

She would be dead if they hadn't put the conservator-ship in place. What I'm at a loss to understand is how everybody apparently decided putting her back to work would help without a boatload of therapy. If she could be forced to work, she could be forced to see a therapist. Saying "She wouldn't go," is ridiculous and pretending Britney Spears could be plopped in front of someone paid to listen to her and keep a vow of silence is preposterous. Shutting her up, on the other hand,...  Hah! Good luck with that.

I’m not an expert on Brittany but when she started out wasn’t there a rumor that she was slow  intellectually ? I hope that doesn’t come off mean. If she’s had any therapy in the past 13 years,it sure doesn’t show.

Well, she's obviously what they used to call "simple." Probably just barely missing a "mentally disabled" diagnosis, certainly a below average intelligence, as she is showing us repeatedly.

Emotionally stunted for sure. I think a lot of celebs have arrested development. They stop maturing at the age huge fame set in.

She did have therapy, she likened it to torture. There’s not much mental health professionals / therapy can do to help, if the patient doesn’t want help. Medications will be the only thing that can help in those cases, but now she doesn’t have to take them anymore.

She says she was sedated with medication but that’s a common complaint. I think it’s common for people with bipolar disease to indentify with the hypomanic/manic phases, feel as that is their normal state of being. That’s what they are used to for much of their life, until they have gone off the deep end. I mean what’s not to love, you have tons of energy, get things done like a superhuman, need little sleep, everything can feel fabulous, life is exciting. With medication you go to a ”normal” state of being where you need a normal amount of sleep, sometimes things arent awesome and you just don’t have this superhuman amount of energy to do things. Of course you feel sedated and lethargic, if before you’d be up and running for 18-20hours a day without a problem. It’s hard adjustment for them and for many it takes years to accept their diagnosis.

Obviously the medication can make you feel more lethargic than normal, not disputing that. But with bipolar disease its a fine a line trying to find the right medication. And it helps enormously if the patient accepts the diagnosis. Then you can have minimal amount of medication and if they feel like theyre slipping into a hypomanic state, they understand it and youll just up the medication and then reduce it again once it starts to pass.

Oh and about Sam possibly becoming her conservator in the future. For him it’s much more lucrative for her to be deemed ”normal” than for her to be in a conservatorship and he the boss. In a conservatorship you have to boomark all the spendage down to avoid abuse, where as now that she is deemed ”normal” she can use her money how she wants buying him stuff and no one can intervene.
