ok. i'm no expert but i looked at a vid of the dancers from one of britney's vegas shows. they were pretty normal looking bodywise. obviously fit but not super slender like ballerinas. and britney's body looked great, too. so not sure what she is talking about.

So, not sure what Britney is talking about claiming she didn't mention Christina. You're right, Firebrat, I doubt she wrote this, or at least someone heavily edited it for her.

I don't know why people are expecting clarity and accountability from Britney, as if she were a sane, adult person. She really isn't. And the whole thing is just a sad spectacle at this point.
Unlike a lot of you guys, I think her family is to blame for a whole lot of it and for wasting 13 years that could have been used to get her actual therapy instead of keeping her compliant and performing like some kind of medicated show pony. that doesn't change the fact that it's up to her to do the work to get better and even acknowledge her problems and i doubt she ever will because she doesn't seem to have anyone in her life actually looking out for her best interests, and she didn't when her family was in her life either. yeah, personal responsibility is important but it's not everything, it's also pretty much impossible to get the help you need if you don't have a good support system and sadly britney doesn't and probably never did.

I went & read something on Vanity Fair from when the thing was revoked & they interviewed non-family members & it really changed my opinion.
I have no doubt that she needed *something* but I didn't know that they didn't need to go straight to conservatorship, there were intermediate stages that they just swooshed through or ignored.
Reports of her dad make him sound like a complete POS e.g. screaming "I AM Britney"?!? Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely.

One alternative would be to just close off the thread.  I agree that she is a mess, and probably wasn't served well by her family.  Unlike Amanda Bynes, whose parents seem pretty solid, Spears' family are basically country bumpkins who stumbled into fame with their daughters.  They were never going to make great decisions in the first place (or second place or third place), and this is one of the ways that famous but troubled people fall through the cracks.  Once they are adults, there's nobody looking out for them.  It's not clear to me whether she has ever been self reflective enough to think that recovery involves changing her own attitude and behavior.

i didn't mean to suggest closing the thread, i get why she's a topic of discussion. i guess i just don't understand the amount of anger and judgement toward her, or the expectations toward someone who was never given the tools to develop the very skills and accountability and self-awareness people want to see from her, if that makes sense?
and i agree with you but i also think it's hard to achieve any degree of self-reflection if you weren't raised by people capable of self-reflection either, and on top of that you never had a proper education either that might help make up for your parents' lack of education and self-reflection. it's one of the many reasons why trauma and mental illness continue from one generation to the next. money and access alone can't fix that.

I said she was garbage but I feel sorry for her now, and do recind that one ( I was kind of shocked she raged against her own kids that's why I was declaring her garbage) but still think she should have some self awareness and she really just needs help. Her kids overall sound like they love her and are trying to understand, so if Batshit Britney can get her act together there is still hope she can have a fulfilling relationship with her kids. I go back and forth with the empathy because then she goes and rants about fatty Patty's. ( Full disclosure I myself am a Large Marge).

I'm not sure how big we can go without it causing problems the same way it did at the old board but I'm checking with The Boss Lady about how bloated we can let things get before we start you all afresh.
