Maybe this will wake him up. He's had 2 serious accidents in less than 3 months. As we age-I'm a year younger than him-reflexes and a whole bunch of other stuff like healing and recovering from injuries slow down. Sure, not being as spry as you were in your 30’s is a bummer but it's better than the alternative.

I never liked this guy. And the debacle with David Letterman, that sealed it. Team Dave forever, motherfucker.
He and his wife have no children. He's 72, she's older. Google tells me his car collection is worth between $52-100m. With this kind of top money collector, I think the thrill is in the hunt. But then, what do you do with all of them? He's testing out a 1940 Indian motorcycle when he should be downsizing his collection or opening a museum or something. Leave that shit to charity already. The whole thing just reeks of ego. Not only the collection, but the whole "i'm ok!" You're 72 asshole, I agree with cartermrc, getting old sucks, and accepting your limitations sucks but damn you don't want to go around breaking your hips, knees etc spending the rest of your days behind a walker because you had to be a superfly asshole.

He better just settle himself. Those are two freak accidents in a pretty short period of time. I feel like I should add him to the death pool.

Every damn thing Trixie just said.
Jay Leno is an asshole. It's no surprise to me at all that his ego outweighs his common sense.
Yes, getting older sucks. I'm back into the gym finally after 2-3 years...our last one completely went out of business during the pandemic. I'm feeling good overall, but even at my age there are some differences I've noticed and it sucks. But...exactly why I'm in the gym! I see way too much of what the result becomes of people my age and older who don't take care of themselves, part of which includes realizing you're no longer 30.
That's two freebies papaw. Next time you might not be as lucky.

^^^ Adding on to what Ms Dark said.... I went out of town by myself last weekend to take a certification exam and somehow I managed to pull a muscle in my lower back while moving laptops and luggage around in my trunk. By Monday, I was walking around the office like Fred Sanford. I've never been out of shape, but I still messed up. You need to listen to your body and paying attention to how you are doing things. Or if you should be still doing them. There have been a couple stories lately of older celebs badly messing themselves up just falling of a freaking bicycle. Bono being the most prominent example.
Ms Dark - way to go going back in the gym. It can be intimidating and frustrating if you haven't been there for a while. I worked out with our daughter 4 days this week just to help reinforce the habit with her. Now, that she's back in school, I'm hoping she will use their gym.

I've been 4 days this week. Wanted to go last night AND today. But my damned foot is hurting because I think I overdid it this week running. I have a slightly dropping arch in my left foot. I wear good shoes and do preventative exercises to keep it from getting worse, so it hasn't bothered me much to the point I forget about it. But after being back walk/jog/running and recently getting back to being able to do 3.5 miles (and doing it 4 days this week) I realized I probably need something extra in my shoes. <eyeroll>
My left foot is killing me since late yesterday afternoon and I've been on such a roll I'm thoroughly pissed I couldn't run last night and probably don't need to today either. But I realize I need to give it a break until it's not hurting.

Sorry to hear that, but I wanted to mention that even if you can't run, if you can do some weightlifting - you would still have a very productive workout. Mrs Mo has been meeting with a nutritionist on a monthly basis for over a year, and building muscle is even more important than aerobics in terms of weight management, preventing injuries, etc.

Yes I've been back to doing the weights too. We're going back tomorrow and even if I don't feel up to running will definitely be hitting the weights. I don't lift super heavy as I did when younger. And though I do still like to lift, I just love how I feel when I'm in good cardio shape. Back when I used to do at least 5 miles a day and my resting heart rate was 50-60 I felt good all the time. Nothing got me tired or out of breath. My job is anywhere from 40-60% walking vs sitting, which is a good balance now that I'm older, but being able to run up a couple flights of stairs without being winded is kind of my litmus test for whether I'm more out of shape than I need to be.
I was training a new coworker a few months back who was shadowing me for a week. Our offices are on the 3rd floor. Throughout the day I'm going between the 1st and 3rd floors. I almost ALWAYS take the stairwell because it's not only quicker than the slow ass elevators, but it's good exercise. Since losing that weight 4 years ago, I can run up or down two flights pretty easy without getting out of breath. With my coworker we walked down the stairs (talking while walking, so I wasn't running) and it was fine, but on the trip back up, my coworker was pretty uncomfortably out of breath by the time we got where we needed to be. I found an excuse for us to take the elevator after that because I didn't want them to be uncomfortable or fall out on me!
But that coworker is like 20 years younger than me. I'm not trying to be super woman here. Just stay alive. I have this sort of irrational fear/paranoia (especially the older I get) of being too out of shape to do basic things like this because I imagine what could happen in a life or death situation requiring me to run or be able to escape a place (like being several floors up in a burning building with no elevators available). I guess that's a little crazy. But perhaps not.

That reminds me of a job I had a long time ago. My job was on the 11th floor, but the street entrance was considered floor 5. And most of the people on the elevators were elderly people going to to see their doctors. So, to save time and aggravation, I would routinely walk/run up 6 flights of steps to get to my office.
A long time ago, I read that the three pillars of staying in shape were strength, endurance, and flexibility. I think the last one gets neglected (unless you are in an aerobics class, I guess), because most people are focused on strength and aerobic conditioning.

I'm team Leno. He used to be hysterical when he was writing his own material. But once he had writers on the Tonight Show, he did all the political material because it was easier for his writers to write on short notice. Leno's first job was at an auto dealership and he simply LOVES cars. He's a longtime car collector because he appreciates the workmanship that goes into earlier model cars and he's collected them for decades. Those cars will probably end up in a museum in Vegas so that convention goers can visit when they are in town.
