i dunno. i've been seeing people complain about MM whining in her podcasts, but in the few i have listened to, i don't see whining. i do find her personality grating because she seems insincere. but that is a different issue.
i haven't heard any recent whining from him but again, i get most of my data from here. i am not a royalist.

Sure, but money helps, a lot. Camilla seems to be a lot of fun, so I don't know. And Andrew is just an uncle, he doesn't have to interact with him. Lots of people have dodgy relatives. Yeah I think it's safe to say a lot/most people have some problematic relatives and have been through some kind of trauma. Having problems with your family is not something unusual. Yeah but equally, not many have the whole world watching while you bury your mum. I won't be buying it, reading it, listening to it.

yeah and that too.
1. walking behind your mom's casket in front of the world 2. having your dad's mistress become queen hookah/consort 3. wanting independence
i won't be buying it either. if page6 prints excerpts i would probably read those. that's it.

Yeah same.
The whole thing I get about Harry is that he should have stayed in the army, that as a Rupert he could have flown a desk for his career, it gave him purpose and it was obviously something that he "enjoyed". It could have kept him out of hotspots which would have reduced the added to the danger for the rest of the troups.
But it didn't happen, for some reason he left. Also knowing that you always come second (as the "spare") IMHO has got to have an effect on one's self.

i love the halo effect on the cover - good strategy for covering the thinning hairline. doubt i would read this one, either. but it is probably more interesting than chandler's bittertown book. He's towing a fine line here because it would be so easy to fall into the "poor privileged me" category. However, growing up in such a stifling institution, being "the spare" and what that can do to a person's wellbeing --could be an interesting read. I do love the title. Personally, I'm not going to be reading it, but I think he has a story to tell. Reading the phone book would be more interesting than Chandler's book.

I think it could be an interesting read. Some may view it as whining, but I think there's a story to tell there about growing up in the royal institution, where family is not family first but The Firm, where you aren't told that you can be whatever you want to be but are expected to be the spare to the heir, spending your life serving him, and then the hatred of the press from what happened to Diana and from all the spying and lying they do. I don't care how privileged he was, I wouldn't wish that kind of life on anyone.

^^^ this. but i also don't think he's going to spill half as much as people think, because i don't think he's willing to go full slash and burn on the royal family. at least not yet. i don't know if it's because he's still hopeful he can find some kind of reconciliation with his family, or he's still optimistic about being able to change some of the worst aspects of the firm/royal life (good luck), or stockholm syndrome or self-preservation or what but i have a feeling he'll go nuclear on the courtiers and the british press (and maybe andrew) but spare most of his family or present them (especially william and charles) as 'victims' who haven't managed to free themselves from the confines of royal tradition.

He had to leave and go and be his brother's accessory.

I remember even as a teen when I read about “the heir and the spare” in the press I thought that it was going to hurt Harry’s feelings as he got older. They acted like he was just there to replace his brother if need be and that he had no value of his own.

The biddies are always going to have a hate-on for him for marrying who he did and for leaving. Doesn't matter what else he does.
So he might as well tell it like it is. I'm here for it.

Harry, hang in there because if William dies before he has kids, then YOU get to be King.

I'll read excerpts for sure.
But I can't get behind the Harry/Meghan victim thing. Yeah, it sucks being the spare and Meghan had a helluva time trying to integrate into that family but none of these people - every single royal - is a slave. All of them can walk away and go do whatever the hell else they want to with their lives. And all of them have the money to do so.
Being a spare or an unwanted DIL while painful isn't a life sentence. Harry and Meg walked away as is their right and was, according to them, to pursue a life of happiness. Yet all they seem to do (from reading here, I don't otherwise follow them) is talk about the Firm and/or use it to promote their own fame and financial prospects.
