that may be but 100/300 is not much, it won't cover this damage. and that's if the car is leased ....

@novice First, what Trixie said. Second, the reason insurance is required in the US is so that if a driver causes a major calamity (see: this one), they will at least be able to cover passengers, other victims, etc. Before that, if you were hit by a drunk driver, you were kind of SOL. At least that's how I remember it.
But yeah, I had a friend who had her adult kids on her insurance and one of them plowed into a store sign, damaging it. Before that, he'd gotten in a fender bender. He was in his late 20s, mama always drove him everywhere before that (I can't relate) and had just received his DL. Anyway, the insurance company dropped the mom unceremoniously and she had to scramble for new insurance since she basically worked out in the field 90% of the time. I didn't know they could dump you that abruptly. And then you have to hope another agency will accept you, and that you can afford their rates. Otherwise, you get the most garbage insurance in the world (and then you go on to rear end me because that's a thing that's happened repeatedly to me and why I'm walking around like a 90 year old most of the time...the last guy who hit me worked for the state of Iowa and guess what...it was smooth sailing with that insurance. Everyone else has had the kind of insurance that can't even afford an ad of a male eagle laying an egg. Also great if you want to hear a real Chicago accent.)

I doubt she has the minimum coverage, I have $100/$300 (100k per person 300k per incident) on both homeowners and auto and really that's not enough, and $100k sure won't cover all the repairs to the house. They would have to sue her personally for damages over the policy limit. If she has a personal umbrella policy she may have some additional coverage there. Her homeowners should cover it (if renting, her personal property). and then go after Anne. Re renters insurance, it also protects you from personal liability in or outside of your home, i.e. if someone is injured or your damage someone's property. If you look around at all the stuff you have--furniture, tv etc, it starts to add up. If you place burned down or flooded, you could lose everything. The coverage is pretty inexpensive too, less than $200/yr I think. eta to Novice--her coverage would be valid whether pissed or not, but they will most definitely cancel her policy lol Thanks & thanks Waterslide They will do anything over here not to pay. Over-insured under-insured, no MOT no tax no insurance. Drunk? No insurance.....

And for the moment I've been waiting for...Anne is being investigated. (I just wondered why she hadn't been yet and we know it was going to happen...) Videos at the link. TMZHit and run charges are definitely serious, but there has to be more to it than that. Why does it take so long to get the results of a blood test? Back log? And here's another thing I never thought about. Did Lynne Mishele have a car in her garage? I never heard about Anne destroying a house and a car both.

And if they're just doing the blood draw NOW, would the results even be accurate?

^ I was thinking the same thing, but I'm guessing they took blood after she was taken to the hospital, but they needed a warrant to check the blood for BAC. Otherwise testing it now makes no sense at all.

I’m guessing that she owns the car outright anyway. I just heard that the woman is renting the house and that she lost the majority of her belongings and all of her equipment for her work, whatever that might be.

i'm not aware that you need renter's insurance here but it may depend on the county. in my county it is not required. if anne's car insurance doesn't cover the damages, wouldn't she be personally liable? someone has to pay for fixing that wreck of a house. Hell yeah she's personally liable for anything over and above her policy limits of $100k and if the woman is a renter then those are two separate claimants who could collect up to $100k each.. And a third person as well whose garage she hit. I'm guessing the homeowner will go through their own insurance and then sue Anne for the rest. This just goes to show that 100/300 coverage really ain't shit, not that I'm planning on hitting a house but if you had a car accident and someone's got a $50,000 car and is injured, that $100k might not cut it. And waterslide , damn I laughed at that Eagleman, haven't seen that in ages. Yes, it was always a mystery how a male eagle popped out an egg lol. And the "I've got something for YOOOO" is something I still say to my dogs sometimes. eta: have you seen the videos of them taking her out on the gurney, she's all covered with a blanket and then she SITS UP and scares the crap out of them.

LOL - it's a classic! Right up there with Victory Auto Wreckers. But I do still find myself saying "Look at those looow rates!" from time to time. But yeah, I did see that video of her popping out of the sheet. That was nuts! This should be cued up to the right part: MsDark I don't know what to make of the coma, etc. I thought maybe it was a medically-induced coma since they said she was doing OKish before, but they're saying she slipped into a coma. I guess I wonder if she was really bad off the whole time and just decided to throw this info out there, or if she has been worsening.

Could be a medically induced. I'm sure there was severe trauma to the respiratory system. Sometimes with burn victims they'll be put in a medically induced coma

Hi All, Insurance Agent here in the US and licensed in 48 states. Though I specialize in Commercial Insurance, I have many designations and have working experience and knowledge in Personal Lines.
After reading some comments, I hope I can clear a few things up. I am tired and bulleting pointing, so if anyone has further questions, I am more than happy to answer them tomorrow.
The alleged guilty party may have the auto insured in an LLC or Corporation for tax purposes and very well may be insured Commercially which offers much higher limits and almost always is coupled with an Excess policy if their Agent knows what they are doing.
The alleged guilty party has a huge financial risk, so depending on the state they are insured in, they may either carry 500k or 1M CSL limits or 500/500/500 split limits. Even though those limits are low, they most likely have and Umbrella or Excess policy.
The only time the injured party's policy would come into play is if the guilty party's policy was denying coverage or didnt have any in place. Even if the property owner(s)/tenant(s) had homeowners/renters insurance, they would subrogate against the guilty party.
Being intoxicated does not void Liability, intentional acts would though.
I think I covered most of the topics I saw but if not, feel free to ask away!

So weird when she sits up. Could be due to pain. And topless? So sad all around. Filming from above seems a bit intrusive.
