i hate it when they promise thunderstorms and don't deliver! same thing happened in DC yesterday. my weather app was blowing up with melodramatic 'severe thunderstorm' warnings and all we got was 30 seconds of rain which only made the humidity worse.

Just after 1am here. Still no storm and it's still sweltering. Yeah I'm contemplating going to lie on my sofa downstairs as it's still 30C upstairs in my house with all the windows open & a fan on. I might watch Dr Strange & the multi-verse..... Surely that will put me to sleep? ? ? |

OMG, it rained like hell here up in the Glen Burnie area. I was at a Costco gas station after work and rain started coming down diagonally. I was drenched by the time I got in my car - and then it rained even harder. Rain here is so patchy and random. By the way, in the part of Germany where Mrs Mo is it shot over 100F to 37F. To humor me, she cracked a fresh egg on a manhole cover. But it only half cooked. |

That's what my garden thermometer says... |

notoriousmkg maybe a thinner, more reflective surface like a car would have worked better because a manhole cover could possibly be more efficient at dispersing heat due to the thickness of the metal and the much cooler air in the space below it.

We had some really hard rain/thunderstorming last night and early am. Dark Jr had been up for it and was still awake and told me this morning when I got up. It did wonders for the veggies. In just two days I have more zucchini, squash and peppers popping up. And the tomato plants look like they've grown 5-6 inches! I really ought to measure them for comparison. It was still hot today, but the high was only 95-95 (and not 100+). This time of year I welcome any rain because it cools stuff off, even if just a little. But here's the next 9 days:  11 o'clock at night and it's still 87 degrees. And feels like 98 degrees with the humidity. At 11 o-fucking-clock at night. |
