Good point. Very interesting. Why tf would a nephew claim to have had sexual relationship with his uncle? I seem to believe this and think grooming started a lot younger than legal age.

The other brother Eric has come out in favour of Ricky and says that Dennis has a history of ongoing mental health issues exacerbated by drug use, criminal complaints against him and has previously not only hurt members of the family but also has a restraining order against him for stalking a former co-worker and threatening to kill her.

Ricky Martin’s nephew withdrew his harassment and affair claims against the singer in a July 21 court appearance, which effectively closed the case.

Joaquín Monserrate Matienzo, Carmelo Dávila and Harry Massanet Pastrana, the attorneys for Martin, released a statement about the dismissal.

“Just as we had anticipated, the temporary protection order was not extended by the Court,” the statement reads. “The accuser confirmed to the court that his decision to dismiss the matter was his alone, without any outside influence or pressure, and the accuser confirmed he was satisfied with his legal representation in the matter. The request came from the accuser asking to dismiss the case. This was never anything more than a troubled individual making false allegations with absolutely nothing to substantiate them. We are glad that our client saw justice done and can now move forward with his life and his career.”

The court case against Ricky Martin has been dismissed.

Martin's nephew, who'd accused the "Livin' La Vida Loca" singer of sexual abuse, asked to have the case dismissed in a Puerto Rican court on Thursday, and his request was obliged, attorneys for Martin told PEOPLE in a statement.

"Just as we had anticipated, the temporary protection order was not extended by the Court. The accuser confirmed to the court that his decision to dismiss the matter was his alone, without any outside influence or pressure, and the accuser confirmed he was satisfied with his legal representation in the matter," the statement read. "The request came from the accuser asking to dismiss the case."

The statement continued: "This was never anything more than a troubled individual making false allegations with absolutely nothing to substantiate them. We are glad that our client saw justice done and can now move forward with his life and his career."

The allegations emerged on July 1 when a judge granted a restraining order against Martin under Law 54 — also known as the Domestic Abuse Prevention and Intervention Act, which he denied.

"The allegations against Ricky Martin that lead to a protection order are completely false and fabricated," representatives for Martin told PEOPLE at the time. "We are very confident that when the true facts come out in this matter our client Ricky Martin will be fully vindicated."

At the time, however, the name of the petitioner was still unknown due to the nature of the case. Shortly after the news broke, Martin addressed it on Twitter.

"The protection order entered against me is based on completely false allegations, so I will respond through the judicial process with the facts and dignity that characterize me," the star posted at the time. "Because it is an ongoing legal matter, I cannot make detailed statements at this time. I am grateful for the countless messages of solidarity, and I receive them with all my heart."

Last week, however, Spanish media outlet Marca reported that Eric Martin, the singer's brother, revealed the petitioner is Ricky's nephew. The allegations also claims Martin had a romantic relationship with his nephew and said he could reportedly face 50 years in prison for it.

"Unfortunately, the person who made this claim is struggling with deep mental health challenges. Ricky Martin has, of course, never been — and would never be — involved in any kind of sexual or romantic relationship with his nephew," Marty Singer, attorney for the Puerto Rican singer, told PEOPLE exclusively in a statement.

He continued, "The idea is not only untrue, it is disgusting. We all hope that this man gets the help he so urgently needs. But, most of all, we look forward to this awful case being dismissed as soon as a judge gets to look at the facts."

The news comes after his ex-manager Rebecca Drucker sued the singer for more than $3 million in unpaid commissions, according to legal documents obtained by PEOPLE that were filed with the Los Angeles Central District Court on June 29.

The 15-page complaint claimed that Drucker helped Martin through "recording contracts, touring and sponsorship deals, and other professional endeavors," adding, "With Rebecca at his side, Martin made millions of dollars and therefore owes Rebecca substantial commissions."

Martin's reps declined to comment on the Drucker lawsuit.

I'm glad that it turned out to be a false claim.

I reckon he was paid off. Last night I got lost in YouTube tarot card readings (yup! 🤦‍♀️) They all had the same conclusion which was didn't look good for Ricky.

Yeah, and unfortunately I think this has damaged Ricky, even if he's 100% innocent there will always be that doubt.

Going to court would have cleared things up. Depends whether nephew dropped charges on own or paid off.

given the absence of any other allegations or rumours despite ricky being super famous since he was a kid in the menudo days, i'm gonna give him the benefit of the doubt too.

I saw Ricky filed a lawsuit the other day so I was going to post it. Then this additional news popped up.


Ricky Martin faces sexual assault complaint days after singer sued nephew

A sexual assault complaint was filed against Ricky Martin in Puerto Rico Friday, just days after the singer’s legal team filed a lawsuit against his nephew Dennis Yadiel Sánchez, who had accused Martin of incest and sexual abuse.

Police officials told local media that the complaint was filed in a precinct in the Río de Pedras district in the capital San Juan.

Details of the allegation, as well as the name of the person who filed the complaint, have not been disclosed due to the nature of the case.

However, several outlets have identified Sánchez as the person who made the allegations.

Martin filed a lawsuit Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2022, against his nephew accusing him of extortion, malicious persecution, abuse of law and damages stemming from false allegations that attorneys say cost the artist millions of dollars in lost income.  

A person who was not authorized to speak about the case told The Associated Press on Saturday that the alleged incident didn’t trigger an arrest because it hasn’t happened recently.



On Wednesday, the “Living La Vida Loca” singer filed a civil lawsuit against his nephew seeking $20 million in damages to his reputation and at least $10 million worth of canceled projects.

  
The lawsuit followed explosive claims made by his 21-year-old nephew earlier this year. Sánchez alleged that the two had had a romantic relationship for seven months and that the singer refused to accept the separation.



On July 21 a judge declined to extend a temporary restraining order against the pop star after Sánchez “ceased his claims voluntarily,” a judicial spokesperson said during a hearing, which was held virtually.



‘Therefore the case was archived and no further procedures are required,” the spokesperson added.



Shortly after the judge’s decision, the Grammy-winning performer celebrated the news on Twitter, writing that “truth prevails.”



He later shared a video on social media in which he discussed the enormous toll the accusations took on his loved ones.



“Thank God these claims were proven to be false, but I’m going to tell you the truth: It has been so painful, it has been devastating for me, for my family, for my friends. I don’t wish this upon anybody,” Martin, a married father of four, said in part.

I read it as Ricky was suing the nephew. But I think he sued the nephew who then re-filed his sexual abuse charges against Ricky.

Well, I don't know why Ricky is suing him for $30m, he knows the guy is unstable and he'll never collect. I get that he wants to clear him name but all he did was poke the bear and start it all up again. You'd think he would want to put it behind him, not keep the story in the news.
