The nephew said they had a 7 month long relationship which ended 2 months ago, and Ricky doesn't accept the break up. That would be incest.

Well apparently he's still married to his husband, the one he's raising 4 kids with. Maybe he should get around to divorcing first?
I know he had a home in Miami Beach when we were living there. Granted that was 12 years ago. Even if he still has a residence in Miami I'm almost sure he sold the MB home I'm thinking about 7-8 yrs ago.

So the reason I posted the homophobic Spanish tweet is because I was trying to follow the provenance of the rumor. The homophobic tweet is not a source of news, it just happens to be how the rumor seems to have been disseminated. The origin of the rumor is the news site Tu Noticia. I haven't seen anything on their site that is homophobic, but I also don't know that it's a reliable source or some kind of tabloid. I also have no idea in the world where Tu Noticia got their info, obviously. I have no idea what Ricky did or didn't do, but like trixie said, I'm curious about what the career-ending allegation is. Also, I can think of a few scenarios where if you dated your nephew it wouldn't be incest. Like...maybe it's his husband's sibling's child, for example. And like sputnik said, there is no indication that Ricky had a relationship with that individual when he was underage so, I'm not throwing an accusation at him so much as wondering what accusations are being thrown at him by people close to the story. |

Well in a homophobic culture like Puerto Rico (any hispanic country, I'd say), all you need is a whisper of an allegation like this, and people end up believing it. It's the scandalous allegation and bad press that is career-ending, even if the rumor is proven wrong in the end. I think this is the game the ex-manager is playing.

It's just hard to wrap your brain around what in the celeb world would still constitute a "catastrophic" career-ending accusation, but I hadn't thought how it could be different in Hispanic countries. I remember when Hugh Grant practically thanked America for forgiving him for having an affair with a prostitute and that seems silly and quaint compared to what we know celebs are capable of doing and hiding. |

I remember when his nephew was born. If memory serves Ricky's sister was a young mom.

50 fucking years? For what, exactly? There are murderers in this country who don't even get half this.
I mean, I know it's gross and all. But ultimately we're talking about two consenting adults.
Is it because he was fucking a relative? Or is it because the relative he was fucking was another dude? Or is it because of the harassing or whatever he did when the nephew tried to break it off? Was the nephew underage when he started with him?
50 years. Josh f'n Duggar the infant/child pedo only got 12.5 years (and probably won't even have to serve all of it).

On wiki, I saw that you can get 4-10 years in jail for incest in Puerto Rico. I haven't found where to verify that, though. I think the attorney is either exaggerating or there is multiple charges that could add up to 50 years. I also just learned that the age of consent to marry is 21, but can go as low as 16 for females with parental permission. I did see a paper that claims that Puerto Rico had the highest incidence of incest in the world during the 1950s. Maybe they have very stringent laws about it? |
