So I have decided to do something to come up with a plan. 24 hours ago, I started a private FB group of like minded individuals to come up with a plan for the mid terms.
I don't know if you have been watching the hearings, but the GOP plan is if they take state governments and the mid terms, they are going to pass new laws stating they can replace electors if they choose. Meaning, no matter how an election turns out, they will change it so their guy wins. These mid terms should be focus number one.
I know my skills. I am good at organizing, coming up with a plan and delegating. So my FB group is called QC Citizens for Choice, and I have over 100 members in 24 hours, and I don't know most of them. I am hosting a brainstorming meeting at my house on Monday night for everyone to come up with an action plan. If you would like to join my group, let me know and will ad you, so if you want to copy what we are doing to implement in your local area, I am more than ok with that.

^ Great plan. Without wanting to sound too paranoid, though: (how) do you screen participants? I mean, at this point it wouldn't surprise me if ff-ing rightwingers would infiltrate any such groups to sabotage efforts from people who actually know what a democracy should be like. Gawd, what a fucked up world we live in.

At this point, it's based on the trust system. And it stated in the description that this is for like minded individuals, so if there is someone that doesn't belong, they will be booted. I have checked a couple to see their FB posts, and most have something stated about Roe V Wade. I only invited people to join that I knew were pro choice. And there were some of my friends that I didn't know their stance until they posted something about the decision, so that helped me pick my core group. I'm at 120 members so far.

This sucks at all levels.
I feel so sorry for the girls/women who are the victims of sexual crimes đȘ
Imagine a 10 year old abused and impregnated by an older relative.
How is this sh!t ever ok? Why is the US so backwards?

This sucks at all levels. I feel so sorry for the girls/women who are the victims of sexual crimes đȘ Imagine a 10 year old abused and impregnated by an older relative. How is this sh!t ever ok? Why is the US so backwards? And women who have ectopic pregnancies. Some of the abortion ban states have no exceptions, not even the life of the pregnant woman. So they better hope when that zygote grows big enough to rupture her Fallopian tube she can get to the hospital before she bleeds to death. piece of shit alito wrote in his opinion that Roe "was remarkably loose in its treatment of the constitutional text. It held that the abortion right, which is not mentioned in the Constitution, is part of a right to privacy, which is also not mentioned."
Note how he specifies that âright to privacyâ is also not mentioned in the constitution, which the corrupt SCROTUS could use to overturn HIPAA laws to allow states access to womenâs medical records so they can monitor their pregnancies. The wing nuts have already stated the goal is to make abortion illegal across the US, and we had better believe them. In fact, some forced birther orgs are gleefully reporting that because of the dobbs ruling, the SCROTUS could actually strike down any federal law to codify abortion, declaring it unconstitutional. This country is so fucked unless all voters who donât want a theocracy turn out in November and 2024 to vote out the fascists so the dems are able to win a congress majority and the presidency, and expand the SCROTUS to ensure a liberal majority. I donât have much hope though, voter apathy is real.

The problem is that in addition to the voters who are outright stupid, there are ones who are outright naive. Better vote a straight Democrat ticket at the local and national level this Fall. If you don't, then you deserve everything that is coming to you.

I haven't even considered voting Republican in over 20 years now. They keep getting more and more extreme by the year. My votes are strategic and for whoever I think will keep them out of office. Unfortunately it makes almost no difference where I live.
My particular district should have had slightly decent chance to be able to go blue by now (my neighborhood and immediate surrounding area is now more mixed ethnically and lots of younger folks) but they redrew the district lines the minute it started to look like this stood a chance of happening. I live in a VERY corrupt state. Ex: 79% of people voted for legalized medical marijuana and MS has STILL found ways to keep this from happening. Subverting the majority.

Unfortunately everything is coming to all of us if there's not enough dem votes. It's such bullshit when they say changing gun laws are unconstitutional, the constitution allows for amendments, it's been amended already how many times, we just need the votes from congress to do it and that's what we can't get. If BloJo thought that it would win him votes he'd be all over banning abortion like a herpes rash. Wouldn't surprise me, I doubt a lot of these conservative politicians are truly pro-life and are just pandering for votes from that base.

When the second amendment was adopted, hand-held (personal) guns were muzzle loaded - a mass murder based on the use of personal firearms was something that the Founding Fathers could not even have conceived. Somehow, though, we have a bunch of wildly influential dystopian goofballs who have sunk tens of thousands of dollars (per person) into lethal firearms (instead of crisis pregnancy centers and support for single mothers), and spend most of their free time distorting the Constitution to justify them, and the other part of their free time that is left haranguing local politicians and talk show hosts about it.

The hell it is. Manchin and Sinema have not been reliable but just replace them with Marjorie Taylor Green or Louie Gohmert and see how that looks.

It's all because of these shrill nit-witted women who didn't like Hilary. (We already know the men...with few notable exceptions...weren't gonna vote for her)
Shit they should have at least let Bernie give it a go if that was the case.
