I'm beyond mad. Fuck Clarence Thomas and Mitch McConnell. I was raging about Mitch earlier today. He started this whole thing by holding up Obama's SC nominee. Trump got to put 3 justices on the court. The worst president in the history of the US and he has shaped the court for decades. Absolutely disgusting. I can't get over how the majority of people are being ruled my the minority of people who want to strip rights from anyone who isn't white, male, straight and Christian. Thankful I live in a blue state but appalled at the state of our country. Moscow bitch has stated his goal is to make abortion illegal across the US. scotus asshole thomas has stated the same. They want to abolish as many rights as they can, until we are a theocracy. |

This is devastating. I never thought I'd see this actually happen. I'm sitting here crying, feeling so helpless and hopeless. It sure is. But we still have November’s election. Maybe all the right wing assclowns will be thrown out and we can ensure a congress majority, and no more roadblocks for dems. Yeah, but being a woman maybe we'll not be allowed to vote by then. I'm not REALLY serious, but you never know..... |

On reddit there is a whole thread about everyone walking out of work on Monday. Mostly women, but there are a lot of men on there that are supportive, too.
Seriously, women should just go on strike until we are listened to.

Yeah, I unfriended a parent friend of mine. I know she's conservative, but she's also a single mom to 4 (hubs left her for another lady at the beginning of the pandemic with a young baby...ass). I thought she would be more open minded. She's not. I don't need to see her BS celebrations on FB and Instagram. No thanks.

I woke up around 6:30 PST and was scrolling through my phone a bit, deciding on whether or not I wanted to get out of bed. A little after 7, I saw the breaking news pop up and instantly felt tears welling up. I put my phone down and closed my eyes and woke up at 9. I never sleep until 9. Unless I’m super sick. I’m sad and scared, but mostly, I’m filled with rage. I’ve had to step away from the news and try to process this. It’s sickening. I don’t think people understand what could possibly happen to their wives, girlfriends, children. This isn’t just denying a woman access to obtain a legal abortion because it’s her choice, in many states, this will be denying a woman a safe and legal abortion when she needs one for medical reasons. Many women will die because if this ruling. Living, breathing women, with rich, full lives. We cannot go down without a fight.
And just to to make myself clear, I believe in safe, legal abortion for whatever the reason. Abortion without shame.

Mississippi needs a Stacey Abrams in a major way.
In case no one knew, MS has the highest percentage of black residents (after DC) at 39%.
But this is also one of the worst states when it comes to voter suppression/difficulty voting. Big surprise.

We also cannot forget that Moscow Mitch and his ilk basically stole/hijacked the scotus.
Scalia’s seat was held open by Moscow Mitch for 9 months until rump was elected and they appointed kavanaugh. Because, according to Moscow Mitch, no appointment should be made in an election year.
And tongues Barrett’s hearing was just 38 days before the election, and she was sworn in 14 days before the election, in an election year. Which, according to Moscow Mitch is a big no-no. So Obama should have appointed one judge, and Biden should have appointed the other.
So as far as I am concerned, Moscow bitch stole the scotus and kavanaugh and tongues Barrett are illegitimate and should be removed. And the dems need to finally get off their asses and do something about all of these bible thumping dangerous fuckers before they completely turn this country into a christian wet dream.

The blatant hypocrisy and lies Mitch and his cronies pulled with the Kavanaugh and Amy appointments is appalling and infuriating. I hope we take a good look at this fiasco and figure out a way to prevent it from happening in the future. I've said before, I doubt I'll ever vote for a republican again. I've thought for some time that there needs to be a new political party. What we have now is a mess.

The thing that Democrats need to keep in mind is that there are some issues that are going to impact swing voters. And if they address them, they will lose the progressive side of the party. Here they are:
1. Urban crime - "defund the police" will lose swing voters and Hispanics
2. Israel/Palestine - aggressive policies regarding Israel will lose affluent liberal Jewish voters and donors
3. Immigration - I don't think this issue resonates as much with Hispanic voters as it used to. Many Hispanics no longer identify with economic refugees who come to the US.
4. Trans issues - catering to Trans issues (mainly in relation to pre-teen and teen Trans people) alienates swing voters. Lia Thompson is also an example of the divide.
5. Abortion - this is a swing voter issue and a suburban voter issue. However, parts of the traditional Democrat base (Hispanics) don't seem to care that much.
I read this morning that Trump himself thought the overturning of Roe v Wade was bad and that it would harm Republican gains in the Fall election. He is definitely right. A lot of women were complacent. Because of the basis for overturning Roe v Wade - huge amounts of issues that seem to be settled constitutionally are on the table. It is very important to note that Hugo Black, who dissented in Griswold v Connecticut, who famously said,

If BloJo thought that it would win him votes he'd be all over banning abortion like a herpes rash. His party has just lost two seats by a large margin in byelections and important party advisors are quitting. He'd no doubt still find a way for his latest mistress/es to get one though - he's up to at least 7 children, possibly 8, and at least one former mistress has had an abortion. |
