It’s time to change my phone & I’ve seen the iPhone 13 something and it’s just irritating me (the price fixing, the be-a-clone-affect etc) I’ve never had a Samsung, but I have had android & am happy enough to switch between the two.
I’ve seen adverts for a Samsung galaxy s22 ultra - new phone, more data, less than I am paying now, etc.
Has anyone a specific opinion on Samsung? It has a fancy pencil-thing with it - has anyone used one? Opinions? Thoughts? Love it? Hate it? Wouldn’t throw it out of a moving car?

I've used Samsung for many years and have no intentions of switching. I like their phones. I've never used the model you mentioned though or one with the pencil thing, so can't give any advice on that.

I've stuck with iPhone for years now just because the majority of my music collection is on iTunes. Before that I was always on android.

I've been a Samsung user for well over a decade at this point. In general I tend to vouch for Samsung products but recently cannot vouch for their TVs and their customer service is subpar (it took a good month to get my watch issue taken care of a couple of years ago).

i hate android and i find it confusing to use so i'm stuck with an iphone, i also work on a mac and it's what i've been using for about 12-13 years now so it just makes sense to have a phone that's so compatible but apple can also suck it with their price gouging and their bullshit. nov, if you're comfortable with android and don't want to spend the money for an iphone, go for samsung. most samsung users i know are happy with theirs, though some have mentioned android phones in general break more easily and are of lesser quality, but they're also cheaper so you can replace them more often.

Thanks everyone!
Sput - I’m fairly “ambidextrous” as I have a mac at home & not for work, and iPhone & iPad for work & but a kindle fire etc…. I think that I’ll be getting one, I just want to give them a call to see if I can get any more discount.

I've had my Samsung for a good few years now and it still keeps working just fine. Bloke has had at least three (company) iPhones in the same time, and that's with the office being loathe to allow anyone a new phone unless the old one is totally fucked.

iPhone is way more user friendly. I've had at least 4 (upgrades) and never had any major issues, takes me no time to get used to using once I've upgraded or any time there's an update
My company issued work phone the last few years has been an android and I hate them. I still can't figure out how to do more than the most basic shit. Which is fine, because I'm not doing as much with it as I would a personal phone anyway, but still....

Thanks.
I’ve had Sony Ericssons on android but the original Samsung didn’t work with my laptop but that was years ago.

I never had anything else than android, and since the last couple of years only Samsung. I really dislike Apple products, might be an unreasonable hate but I can't help it. I just bought the new S22, and if you think about buying it, the S21 is comparable to the newer one. The ultra is more like a pad as far as I understand. It's like the flagship product, but way too big (at least for my taste).

Also, two people from my office switched to the Samsung flip and are in love with it. It really grows on me, too. Only thing is, that the camera isn't as good as the other models.

Android vs ios is like Hamiltonian vs Jeffersonian democracy. A lot of it depends on your outlook on technology. Android (and Windows, and UNIX) users tend to be people who like to modify their system. Ios people tend to not want to futz with stuff and want something streamlined. Most techno nerds seem to be Android and Linux users. Artists and hipsters tend to be Ios users.
As much as I like Android and Samsung, for the last MONTH I have not been able to make a voice call to someone else's phone since I did an OS update. I'm going to need to go into my local AT&T store and get some kind of cloned SIM card to fix the situation. That kind of booboo, after all this time, is pretty unforgivable.

That's how the difference between Android and iPhone was explained to me by a Verizon salesman a long time ago. I do like playing around with the system so that's how I ended up not getting an iPhone. I don't know the difference between an Android phone and a Samsung. I thought Android was the OS and Samsung was the brand of the device. I am in the market for a new phone at some point soon and was going to switch over to an iPhone just for something different, and also because my most recent phone was kind of a buggy lemon, but people have been telling me they prefer their Samsungs and that the camera is better. They also hate the price gouging and needing to buy all Apple-related products for their phones. I wish I had enough disposable income to have both so I wouldn't have to decide.
