^^^ yeah, i hear you. i'll admit i used to be a fan of elon years ago but that has long gone. but i still like the tesla. it's been super reliable and it is GREAT to not have to go to the gas station. just plug it in the outlet in the garage and it's ready to go.

100%, we love it. It's so great especially now as gas prices are so high. He's just so unlikeable at the moment.
My only gripe - the windshield wipers are not meant for a rainy climate, their auto controls suck. It's definitely a car more designed for California weather than Oregon. That and the stupid not easy to access glovebox. They fixed my one other complaint, so that's good.

^^^ i haven't noticed any issues with the wipers. we are norcal so not as much annual rainfall as you but when it rains it can be torrential. we have the S. i think the configuration is different than either the Y or 3 ... no problems with the glovebox.
and the mobile repair service is great. i do hate that the only place we can get the car serviced is tesla. they are so backed up.

Can confirm windshield wipers suck in the Florida rain. Auto control my ass. I want full control of my damn car, and I don't want to have to drill down a menu while driving. The only things I like about our model 3 is the gas savings and the looks.
I cleaned and detailed it this week, so I've been driving it everyday this week. I fully feel it was a car made by somebody who has no idea how to make a car.

I read somewhere that Twitter’s value is down to $8b after two weeks of his nonsense.

There's no reason to keep a tesla, plenty of other companies have good EVs now. I'm eyeballing the Dodge Hornet that comes out next year. True. We've had a Ford C-Max for several years now. It's a plug-in hybrid, gets great mileage, and has had no major issues. We love it. I don't know what the range is, though, it was my husband's car and is now our daughter's. Bonus: It was under $20k.

I mean, honestly it's a basic car function, not a computer or cell phone, why should I have to troubleshoot. I swear this company's found ways to complicate the simplest thing.

i dunno. i look at it as they are trying to create a custom experience. *shrugs* your salesperson should've walked you through the settings, it isn't hard to do.
anyway, you can set all sorts of things in the settings, hi-beam, suspension, etc.

For the wipers you can adjust then and turn off the auto function. But, a feature like that I don't want to take my eyes off the road, I wish there was a dial on the left control stick (where you turn wipers on/off) to change their speed. That's just me. Everything else I have adjusted to my liking.
They did one update where they removed the button the on the main screen that allowed you to change driver profile. My husband and I both drive it equally, so we are constantly changing the profile. He's 11" taller than me, he hates it when the seat scrunches him into the wheel, meanwhile I hate his "easy exit" mode where I can barely touch the pedals. So, Tesla updated and they removed the profile feature from the main screen and you had to go through 2-3 different screens to find where to change it. Super annoying. I think the backlash on that one got it updated back to the main screen really fast.

oh, that sounds pretty annoying. it isn't like that on the S. the wiper control stick has a speed indicator on it. and the driver profile appears at the top of the screen. easy to access. but i do not like the software update they pushed out 1-2 months ago, it makes it harder to find stuff, like the seat heater. it used to be it's own icon on the main screen. now you have to drill down to the climate control screen to turn it on. or if i'm feeling lazy, i do voice control.
as for elon, haha. it sounds like more twitter employees resigned than expected - after he told them they have 1 day to indicate whether or not they are willing to commit to 'hardcore' work. so now they are scrambling to retain employees. love it.

He got it completely online. But that is besides the point. It is the opposite of user-friendly. It should be easy and intuitive, not hard for the sake of a custom experience. And the difference in models we have, plus the documented quality control issues which we seem to be unlucky in being on the receiving end, I'm thinking factor greatly in the different experiences.

I read somewhere that Twitter’s value is down to $8b after two weeks of his nonsense. He's now having to go back on his "No WFH or you'll be fired!" stance after more and more staff started giving notice following an e-mail that went out to all staff giving them a choice of working "long hours at high intensity" or quitting with 3 month's severance pay. Apparently, he didn't expect so many of them to click the "Fuck you!" option. I've also read that his buyout of Twitter is being propped up by his Tesla stocks (as well as a lot of loans/investments from the ME) and they are also suffering through his recklessness so if I was in a position to buy a car I don't think I'd want to touch a Tesla. Not just because I wouldn't want to be seen as a supporter of this idiot but also because if Musk fucks Twitter hard enough then it could lead to issues with Tesla down the line.

Musk's coinvestors include Larry Ellison (Oracle founder), a Saudi Prince, Bank of America, and Morgan Stanley. Plus additional undisclosed investers. There should be shareholder revolts over banking this doofus' takeover of Twitter.
