Johnny Depp’s $50m defamation lawsuit against Amber Heard

Well, I haven't seen Amber on the stand yet, we'll see how credible she is. BUT, I still say Johnny did not act like a victim here. A victim doesn't taunt their abuser with name calling, destroy their property etc. That is not how a victim acts. A victim wants to keep the peace.

Another thing that I found really strange is how he seemed to think she slept with James Franco, Billy Bob Thornton etc. Was there any rational reason to think that she sleeps with all her co-stars? It seems like extreme, irrational jealousy to me.

Also, his little names for his women. "Easy Amber" and Vanessa, the "French Extortionist Cunt". Really shows a guy who respects women, especially the mother of his children.

There are a lot of extreme feelings about this case, on reddit and other entertainment sites. Either you're 100% "Team Johnny" or "Team Amber". I even saw one comment today that read, "We've never heard of any bad behavior from Johnny before she came into the picture". They must be young b/c I'm pretty sure he was quite well known for trashing hotel rooms, etc. during his younger years.

Personally, I'm on the team that everyone sucks. They were a totally toxic pairing and were both probably abusive towards each other.

The $50 million in damages is extreme as is the counter suit for $100m.

^ I've only looked on twitter and from what I've seen it's overwhelmingly pro-Depp. I'm not pro-Amber, I am trying to keep an open mind, but I do see some definite abusive behaviors on his part, so I'm having a hard time understanding the blind devotion to Saint Johnny. I don't know what happened in his previous relationships because nothing was ever publicized. Whether that means nothing ever happened, who knows. Celebs can be very good at keeping things quiet because $$ talks. Unless the cops were called we would never hear about it.

So there's abusive behavior, whether physical or not, maybe there was mutual abuse who knows, but I don't see him coming out smelling like a rose here.

i've looked tiktok and 99% of the posts are pro-johnny and they seem him as an abused party. i'm like most of the people here who seem to think they were both abusive/toxic. i feel bad for the judge who has to listen to this drek. his testimony is sounding like a voiceover in a lifetime movie. i think a lot of the women on tiktok seem to side with him because they seem him as sensitive and her as a goldigger.

She doesn't sound stable. The first one gave me chills, I know a person who acts like that. I couldn't be with someone talking to me like that. Ever. But that being said, she probably has similar audio files from him. Like I said - they're both very toxic. Sometimes there is no victim, or let's say, both are victims.

They’re both asshole but he’s older, richer, more powerful and physically stronger, and has a worst track record in terms of both physically and emotionally abusive behavior so I still hold him more responsible and think he’s more to blame. She also stands to lose way more than this asshole who apparently can do no wrong in the eyes of his fans and you know he’ll come back from this I’m some way even if he loses this trial whereas she never will, so yeah fuck him.

I've been catching up on this thread.
Thoughts in no particular order: First off, I think they're both powder kegs just always ready to explode, and the two combined was the spark that blew it all sky high.

Next...how the hell is he alive after so many drugs, booze and no eating?

He had such beautiful bone structure back in the day...I guess it's still there hiding under the grease, hair, flab and crap? He could be a handsome middle aged guy with those bones if not for him being....well, him.

Lastly, I was disappointed in Amber's closet. It looks like a spare room they just threw up those metal shelves you buy at home depot. Actually, my garage is decorated with those just like Amber's closet! (Just wanted to clarify, I have a normal person closet so I suppose it's hypocritical to mention it, but then again mine isn't on TV, and I'm also not filthy rich so I expected more

Edit: at first I read what he called Vanessa was a French contortionist cunt. I was intrigued.

Putting on my Psych master's cap- she's doing several things that counselors/therapists advise against; particularly the repetitive use of "you" and the all or nothing nature of her statements, "you always", "you never". Both of those things put people on the defensive (even if there's truth in the statements).

I think they're both abusive assholes.

i was more team amber until i heard the recording/record of her going to his hotel room despite the restraining order (that she requested). she is def psycho and manipulative. he is psycho, too, but for whatever reasons his fans just see him as sensitive and an artiste. i wouldn't want to be associated with either of them.

i don't hold him more accountable but agree with sput that she has more to lose.
