^^^^ i really can't with those people and the internalized misogyny. i know some in real life too and i just don't think i'll ever look at them in the same way again. few things are more toxic than fandom. depp's a bloated, washed out has been any woman that can still support that cunt after all of this has no self respect. would they really want to be in a relationship with him and have to deal with the varied type of abuses they'd have to deal with? or are they so up their own ass that they think they could be the magic woman who "changes" him? it makes me sick. |

I'm really Glad that Johnny Depp Won. Truth has prevailed and Justice has been served. He can now be free, moves on, completely heal and be happy.
Regarding sociopath Amber Heard, karma is a bitch and what goes around, comes around. She doesn't represent women or real abuse victims. She represents the worst of women. Not really. Now his name will FOREVER have some connection/association to hers and a "social issue" (that being whatever this whole unnecessary show did or didn't do for victims and/or accusers of DV). His chance to actually do what you wrote (the part that I highlighted) was after they split. He wouldn't or couldn't. On some level she couldn't either (there, does that make you happy? I said something negative about her too <eyeroll>) That's why this whole thing happened. Wake me when he's no longer a hot mess on a platter. Or when people stop being idiots over this loser. |

Does that mean I'm abuser, or just someone with a dark sense of humour? As someone who has been married for 30 years without speculating on burning and raping my wife's corpse, I'm going to go out on a limb here and say it more than proves an abusive mindset. During marriage, before marriage, whenever - it's f*cked up. Bettany did not cover himself with glory, but he is not responsible for what Depp said. Does sharing with friends over a platform that could be subpoenaed that you want to mutilate someone else indicate an abusive mindset? I would say at least you were at the end of your relationship and letting off steam. That was not the case with Depp. |

i get mad at my husband sometimes and i have a dark sense of humor but there is no way i would've authored (or even conceived of) such hateful texts.

I'm just glad that my old phone is long dead and gone and nobody can read my old texts. Or the dark stories that I wrote as a way of working through my anger. Or see the dreams I had about feeding my ex feet first to insane giant piggies after reading Hannibal.

I saw a RL facebook person made a T-shirt with Johnny's face on it, something about "It's a 5 o'clock somewhere" (because that's original), and all of her friends fell over themselves to beg her to make them a shirt, and how cute they were going to look on their trips to Cabo, etc. By Johnny's own admission he has addiction issues, so it's extra gross people think this is OK and that it's somehow supporting him. I also have a dark sense of humor (and even a temper) and would never say that I'd like to burn, drown, rape, etc. someone I was dating. I couldn't conceive of doing that, either. I also can't imagine, even when I was young and dumb, wanting to stay with someone who said those things about me. It's not like, "Omg, waterslide is being such a bitch today!" It's more like, "I'm one of the most beautiful, talented, and rich men in the world and I'm still so insecure that I like to joke about staging an enactment of a viking funeral with my girlfriend and laugh about it with my creepy actor friend." Speaking of the creepy actor friend, Paul Bettany makes my skin crawl. I know he and Johnny are kidding, and Paul's not responsible for Johnny, but I also imagine Paul on the other end of the phone twirling his cartoon villain mustache and smirking over his own "wit". I remember lots of stories, rumors, and blinds about him being a fucking asshole to Jennifer Connelly. Allegedly, etc. He's also a great actor, but seems to be fucked in the head as well. |

That's completely separate in my mind and would never hold a story someone writes against them. And certainly not their dreams. |

A lot of gossip blogs were saying that he might have been encouraging Jennifer to lose a lot of weight and keep it off, which is why you would see pap pics of her running almost every day - which, who knows? I also remember reading an interview with I think Jennifer where Paul sort of drops in like a spider and starts speaking to her like she's a child and it was odd enough that the interviewer mentioned that the exchange was odd. eta While looking for receipts, I found this which proves nothing but is kind of à propos (although ridiculous)... The texts are the least disturbing thing about this whole case to me, I think they’re pretty inconsequential and it could well be typical dark humour/banter between depp and Bettany.

I haven't forgotten she did hit him and quibble over whether it was a punch or not. I also think purposely shitting in someone's bed is abuse for that matter. Even the weird babytalk was borderline abusive because I know she was doing it to get a rise out of him. I'm having trouble explaining what I'm reacting to with all of this. This board is the only place where I feel comfortable even hinting that I believe Amber's side should be heard. Not that she's innocent, but that she has a right to defend herself. Some of my friends on Twitter - not just randos - are very firmly in Depp's camp and will not even entertain the idea that both Johnny and Amber were bad and did bad things. It's the black-and-white blind adoration for Johnny vs the rabid hate of Amber that's making me side eye them. |

Because there is physical evidence of his abuse of heard, there are two other women who said he was an abusive jerk, he had a documented history of being violent and trashing rooms and getting into fights, and he has another trial coming up for beating up someone else on set. I think amber is a mess and a piece of work but i think depp was the primary abuser/aggressor in the relationship.
