Wow! I'm so impressed!! What a talented bunch of people here! I would say I'm more of a jack of all trades type of person. I see something, I want to re-create it. I spend exactly as much time on something that I need to, but never enough to get skilled at something if that makes sense? I just like learning new things and as soon as I aquired a new "skill" I'm off to something new. So when my niece wanted a rainbow cake for her birthday with unicorns, I taught myself to do it. It's not perfect, I know. But it's good enough (and tasty). Then, my friend wanted a unicorn cake for her bachelorette party. More sugar than anything else: At our wedding, I taught myself to do all invitation cards, menues, the website for registration etc. I also taught myself (faux) calligraphy so I could make signs and name cards etc. I tried to do several things with my new faux calligraphy skill, but I'm bad with colours apparently. I think it looks alright, if I just didn't colour it. And when my best friend got pregnant, I taught myself to crochet a baby blanket. Every friend that got a baby recently received one. And I did this cute donkey, but I had a manual for that one

This first stained glass panel is about 24"x36" roughly, the second photo shows 4 pieces each about 18" high and the last pieces are sidelights I did for my parent's front door.
Holy Schmoley those are beautiful!! I've always wanted to give stained glass a go but it seems so daunting. Did you take a class to get started or just dive right in? Thanks, burnttoast! I started by taking classes at a local Minneapolis glass shop. While it's time and labor intensive, it's a great hobby. Yep, it was daunting at first, but once you get over the fear of being cut (you will), it's pretty fun. If you do get the chance, I definitely suggest going for it.

Pleiades did you have one of those photos are you picture? I seem to recognise the first one. They are beautiful. Thank you, no1novice! I don't think I had it as my picture, but I do think I may have posted it at GR.
(I must apologize for the multiple quote posts. I still haven't figured out how to multi-quote in one post)

^ I have only two states: either lazy and glued to the sofa, or obsessive in a project and working on it until the early hours. Mostly it's me in my lazy state though.

I've been knitting for about 10 years or so but mostly do triangles and squares (dishcloths, wraps, afghans), LOL. I've done a couple of sweaters and enjoyed the process. I completely suck at making hats and haven't tried socks (yet). Counting can be a challenge for me - I use knitting to relax and a complex pattern can really stress me out. I do enjoy cables though. I took up sewing a year or so ago and went on a mask making binge. I really loved making them and found some fun, cool fabrics (plague rats is still my favorite). I'm branching out to simple tops and trying to venture into the world of knit fabrics. But I keep freaking myself out. The pandemic has put me into a weight gain mode so I'd really like to make some things that make me comfortable yet look okay. Huge challenge . Cool thread...can't wait to see more things for inspiration!

Wow, there are some great designs there - thank you! No problem- I think that one of the first tops I made was Cadeaux in a lovely soft jersey & I wore it til it fell apart. Being a pear shape I didn’t do the bottom tie but the neckline is super flattering. Also there is a fb group that offer advice if you get stuck - they share finished items too so you can see if you’d like them.

For those starting to sew, Mood has some great free patterns and sewing help. I recently made yet another pinafore thanks to one of their patterns The Gambit pinaforeThey have nice basics, such as shorts, blouses and circle skirts, and some of their tutorials are really step by step ^_^ Here is the pinafore I made with their pattern (kinda, I actually winged it, but got inspiration from theirs), as well as my newest project, a 70s jumpsuit but make it goth XD (I had to sew wig snaps to it to attach it to my bra, the bustier wouldn't stick to my boobs XD)
