So I have about a million hobbies therefore I am very likely to spam you but I thought it could be cool to have a thread where we show what we did, whether it be renovations, building shit, sewing shit, making shit, all kind of shit XD You have 2 hands and you made something with them, post it here! I thought about it when answering the "what did you buy" thread, because I recently acquired a new pyrography set, and therefore I made this: So what did you guys make?

Ooh, I love this idea! I do a lot of painting and drawing and such but I did recently try my hand at linocut printmaking - which is super fun. I loathed the standard printing ink so decided to give it a go with oil paints on an artists panel. I'm really pleased with how it turned out for a first go.

I take photos & went to a historic house last weekend. I knit & bought some new wool.

OMG those pics are wonderful. The grounds on that place are SOMETHING ELSE. Sigh, my yard is trash lol.

OMG those pics are wonderful. The grounds on that place are SOMETHING ELSE. Sigh, my yard is trash lol. I purposely bought a garden bench based on this design (by Lutyens); but it was all kinds of amazing. It was Vita Sackville-West’s house & garden - part of the Bloomsbury set writers. Her planting style is the “more the merrier” so I was glad that I could go now before it all started to grow so I could see the structure of things. This in the background is a rose tree - it looks very different from how a rose looks to me traditionally (straight) but she said if you put the boughs under stress they flower more - who knew??? Photos from other sources in summer My photo of a similar view My knitting

I was going to ask what you are knitting, Novice. I like it! I just started something similar, actually, but with cables.

I was going to ask what you are knitting, Novice. I like it! I just started something similar, actually, but with cables. Ooh that sounds exciting! I’ve never followed a pattern before so this is a big departure for me. I think I have a couple more to go before I tackle cables so interested to see what you’re working on.

Will this be your first garment? I hope you're finding your pattern easy to follow. I find many of them incomprehensible tbh.
I'm not using a pattern for my slipover, so I have nothing to show yet but 3cm of ribbing. Hopefully it will look as good when I knit it as it does in my head, lol. I want it to have a bit of an oversized fit like yours, same length too, and also a v-neck, but maybe with a bit of a drop shoulder. And then the cables. Cables aren't really difficult, just fiddly.
Good luck with your slipover and summer tops!

Last week I sew my very first pair of trousers for me. I completely winged the pattern so a few things went wrong, but they work, and now that it’s snowing again I love to have them. It was also a rather short project, I completed it within the week end so that was satisfying. I also made the vest and shirt I wear on that picture. The vest is really not tailored like it should, but it’s good enough. The shirt is one of the very first thing I ever sewed when I started, it is super easy (from a pirate shirt cosplay pattern lol) Currently working on a new pinafore as one cannot have too many pinafores

Super cute Pixie! I love those pants!
I only sew things for my house -- window dressings, pillows, etc.
