I don't think that she faked the pregnancy but I'm guessing that kid came out via an elective c-section on a date of her choosing.

we didn't bring ours out around people until they were about 6 weeks. but we definitely took them out in the stroller for walks. def made sure to keep people away from them, though.

I've always wondered if staying homebound after a newborn is a new parent thing? I didn't go anywhere with my daughter except her doctor's appointments for the first couple of months because I was a nervous, nursing, mess. Though, I've definitely seen people wandering about with day old babies at like carnivals, restaurants and crap...those people usually have other kids in tow. Maybe you just realize after one that the baby is just going to sleep in the carrier, stroller, whatever and that's the extent of it?
Recently I brought my daughter to our local children's museum (it's tiny, one floor) and two women brought in brand new babies in car carriers with their other kids and just plopped the babies in the middle of the museum and kind of meandered off with the rest of their kids. It's definitely not something I'd do but I really had no business being shocked about it (but I was really tbh).

When I had my kids it was advised to keep them home for about the first week. I just can't believe she's feeling well enough to go out the next day, regardless of other considerations.

We're still in a pandemic, I would not be taking a newborn anywhere but to their doctor's appointments.

yeah, that's a consideration. they do get their first jabs in the hospital but i don't think covid is one of them.

I think the youngest you can get a Covid vaccine is 6 months.
