Don't feel bad for blaming your mom. I could write a book about that, but I won't hijack your thread. Having been left with the responsibility of my mentally disabled sister after my mom died 11 years ago, I definitely feel a good amount of blame and resentment. On a daily basis.

Woo hoo...some good news. My brother will be moving out 5/1. Our neighbors from our childhood home have an adult son who has a basement room available. We went and looked at it earlier this week. The condo is really nice and he'll be splitting the rent with 3 other people. The basement is a bit dreary the way it is set up now, but definitely has potential. He'll even have his own entrance. Bonus is that it is 1.2 miles from his job so he can ride a bike to/from work. I'm super ecstatic. His rent is only $550/mo, so way under his budget of $1100. I made it extremely clear, on several occasions  ) that just because his rent is low, he still needs to keep saving because if the lease is not renewed at some point, he needs that $$ for a new place. I told him my door locks will be changed lol. |

Jumping back on this thread to state: My brother has left the building He is fully moved into his new condo as of yesterday and I am elated! Thanks to everyone who offered suggestions, advice and shared their stories! |
