I resisted getting one for the longest time because of how many people were constantly going on about how awesome their air fryer was and it cooked this and that and the other and was all singing and all dancing and... blah! Then Bloke brought one home for me as a gift a few months ago (sooooo romantic.... ) and it sat in the box for weeks until I got sick of falling over it and set it up. But now? They got me. The damn air fryer cult done got me. I've been trying to ignore how useful and easy it is for ages but then I tried making roast potatoes in it and THEY CAME OUT GREAT! Deliciously crunchy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside, exactly how you want them to be. I can't be the only one whose been unwittingly sucked in by these devil's devices so with that in mind I'm starting this thread for you all to share your tried and tested air fryer recipes. P.S. The way I did the roasties was: - Peel and slice potatoes into the appropriate size pieces and soak in cold water for however long you have free. - Parboil until fork tender, drain thoroughly and shake them a little to scuff up the outside. - Roll in a (very little) oil and sprinkle on seasoning if you want (I used Aromat seasoning). - Layer in the air fryer basket and blast on high for twelve minutes while browsing the internet, smoking and having a drink. - Turn them to cook evenly and blast for another twelve minutes or until browned to how you like them while browsing the internet, smoking, chasing a cat off the top of the air fryer (it is NOT a catbutt warmer!) and having a drink. - Nom-nom-nom!

Every week I do a big tofu/vege/rice dish, where I chop up and air-fry an eggplant, zucchini and capsicum with no oil (god knows what those vegetables are called outside Australia) meanwhile marinate some cubed tofu in soy sauce and spices, air fry that, throw some oil and crushed garlic in a skillet with turmeric, sweet paprika and pepper, add a few cups of cooked rice and tomato paste, then dump in all the air-fried stuff with a can of drained chickpeas and some chopped baby spinach and stir it all together. So delicious! And lasts me all week.

They're all the same except capsicum, we call those bell peppers.

^I think the Brits call the first two aubergine and courgettes, wasn't sure about the US.

I make brown/wild rice every week. I use a cup of brown rice and a small handful of wild rice thrown in. I add broth/stock instead of water and a variety of seasonings like garlic powder, onion powder, dehydrated onions, something salty - either salt or a seasoning mix like Vegeta. Quantities are based on my feelings and it's a great side dish or base for sauteed veggies/meat. I like having it in the refrigerator for a heat and eat option for meals.

Great thread! Same here kitty. I tried to stay off the bandwagon but also got sucked in. I made a skirt steak last week and it came out superb. I seasoned it and cooked it at 400 degrees for 4 minutes per side (medium rare- rare) amd let it sit for 10 minutes before slicing it. I also do hard boiled eggs. 250 degrees for 15-17 minutes. Grilled cheese comes out perfect too.

This ^ is what I make in the Instapot. In the air fryer I make pretty much anything I'd use the oven for, but love roasted potatoes, fries, breaded chicken.

I was really hoping that more people would post what they like to make in their air fryer. Come on guys, I KNOW that y’all have one and Kitty and I aren’t the last 2 to join the air fryer cult. I also like to cook those hormel pork tenderloins in the air fryer. 20 minutes at 400 degrees much better than the oven which is an hour and heats up the kitchen. Remember, I’m in south Florida and it’s currently 79 degrees. Some winter…

I just got one for christmas but it's a little mini one. So far I've only done frozen junk food in it (mozzarella sticks and popcorn shrimp). I'm really not quite sure what else I can do with it! I've been a hold out for a long time. I'm not really a kitchen gadget user so I just don't quite if I'll use it much.

I literally cook everything that will fit in it. A quick google will give you time/temp for anything.

Bloke brought home some cold (but cooked) meat pies and rather than faffing about and waiting for the oven to warm up so I could reheat them in there or nuking them and having the pastry go weird and soggy I put them in the air fryer for a bit and they came out perfect. You don't even need to tip them out of the foil tray, just throw the whole lot in, turn it on and come back when it pings. And because they are tinfoil safe I'm plotting on seeing how chicken breasts cook in there, maybe with a little Boursin on top.

Mine is SO TINY (bless my child for the gift but there really is only room for maybe one chicken breast at a time)... that being said, I'm cooking for just myself more and more often these days. I gotta dig in to this thing.
