IDK if this counts, since it was a song first, then used as a theme song, but The Who's "Who Are You" for CSI. I watched a few episodes out of boredom. The acting was crap & I couldn't get past them solving a whole case in a day. Give me my ID shows, please! I bet the The Who made more money off CSI residuals than they did off their concert tours. Every new CSI show used a Who song as its theme. CSI - "Who are You" CSI Miami - "Won't Get Fooled Again" CSI NY - "Baba O'Riley" CSI Cyber - "I Can See for Miles" CSI New Orleans uses somebody different, though Another favorite - "Cheers" theme. I love how it starts with a wistful piano melody talking about the person's daily travails. Then, comes to a huge chorus crescendo. It really goes great with the idea of a put upon account like Norm, surviving another day, and he comes through the door of the bar, and everybody is shouting "Norm!!!!" Cheers, one of the best and one of my all time favorite sitcoms.

That was NCIS.

'The Sopranos' has a great intro, the music, the sequence in the car... i think you cannot skip it while watching. i believe Anthony Bourdain paid homage to it on his New Jersey episode of 'No reservations'.
i also liked the 'True blood' intro. the song is great and the visuals mesmerizing.

The Batman tv show theme! It was the best! And OF COURSE I Dream of Jeannie.
I loved the Dallas theme. That meant it was Friday night at 9 pm and you had better not call me.
But the one I loved the most and it can make me tear up was the Magilla Gorilla cartoon theme song. Happy childhood and the silliest cartoon. "How much is that gorilla in the window"?

notoriousmkg I love this thread! So much nostalgia! Some of these shows I haven't watched, so I was unfamiliar with &/or surprised by the theme songs, & some I've forgotten about. I never knew that "How Soon is Now" was the theme song used by Charmed because I've never watched it, & but now I like this slightly sped up version better than the original one.
