So, so, so tragic, but not altogether unexpected. When the Friends reunion aired I wrote he looked like he would not be long for this world anymore. He had so much going for him yet had so many demons to battle. He was the youngest of the 6 on Friends. Only a few weeks ago he posted this pic with his dad:
Apparently this is one of the last photos taken of him.....did not look good. R.I.P. MP, and thanks for the many, many, laughs.

Surprised to see this news. RIP. His last few Instagram posts were strange. Quite a few people were commenting on them at the time he posted them asking him if he was OK..

I thought years ago he opened a sober house for fellow addicts. It sounded like he had his demons under control and was trying to give back. Then I saw him on the Friend's reunion and though "oh shit, he relapsed."
This is so damn sad.
His final instagram pic is haunting.

His final instagram pic is haunting. Very. I mean, if that Instagram shot was like 30 minutes before he drowned, it will be one for the ages.... Last night, I was reading out loud some story about him having emergency surgery on his colon after one of his overdoses, and our daughter replied "Was he boofing his drugs???" I've heard of that being done by alcoholics, but not by people using drugs.... RIP - I think he was the best comic actor on "Friends". I liked his frenetic, high-speed delivery. Holly - my sympathies. I've always enjoyed you being here and had no idea you were going through all of that. My brother and I were subjected to something like that because of our father (he was more of a binge drinker). We swore we wouldn't subject our kids to that experience, and we have both kept our promise. My brother is a teetotaler and I am a very moderate drinker. Lately, we have been having almost a totally "dry house" because Mrs Mo is on a "get lean" kick and has discovered that alcohol and sugar are not helping, LOL.

I try to keep my personal life off of the internet because being online is like an escape for me, so I generally try to only read/comment in the celebrity gossip/photo threads. I try to stay away from the more controversial threads because I already have enough of drama in my real life, I certainly don't want it online too.

I was shocked to read this, but 1 second later, I was like "why should I be surprised?" He looked extremely unwell for a while now. Even on that "Friends" special he looked & sounded like he was high &/or drunk. I know the next day him or a PR person made up some BS about he had just had some dental work done that day...give me a break. They shouldn't have even said anything if they're just going to lie. But then again, that's the M.O. for an addict..."lie till you die"...unless you decide to get help & put in the work for the rest of your life to not relapse. For an alcoholic, 1 drink is too many & 100 are never enough. And he had problems with with pills too, so adding that to alcohol is a recipe for disaster, & then add being in water under the influence of 1 or more of these things...keep doing it enough times & eventually it won't end well. I don't mean to sound like a bitch, but my husband is an addict (alcohol) & I know every day he doesn't drink is a victory for him, but it's hard for me to get excited when he was 12 days from being 6 months sober & he went & got plowed & hasn't stopped drinking since. It's not just the drinking. It's the lying about it when it's blantantly obvious...so many other things that come with the territory. It's almost like the drinking is the least of the issues. It's the stuff that comes along with it that makes it so hard to live with him sometimes. That was my reaction -- shocked, but then not surprised. This makes me sad. I wish he could have beaten his addiction. I'm so sorry you're going through this Holly. It must be a rollercoaster.

Sorry to hear about your struggles Holly. I can't imagine dealing with an addict. Of course, we all hope for addicts to recover and get their shit together, but the trial people who love them go through is no joke and a trauma in it's own right. You have my full throated support and sympathy, for what that is worth.

Yet Keanu Reeves still walks among us. What am I missing? I'm intrigued!

Yet Keanu Reeves still walks among us. What am I missing? I'm intrigued! In his memoir Perry wrote "Why is it that the original thinkers like River Phoenix and Heath Ledger die, but Keanu Reeves still walks among us?" He got a lot of flack for it, so much that he later said that the line would be removed from any future editions.

I get that he wouldn't want to be remembered only for Friends, but people loved him in it and so many comments are about him being the funniest of the lot. It's not a bad legacy to have.

Morgan Fairchild, who played his mom on the show, was being interviewed this morning and basically said, he was probably the nicest cast member there. And that his talent was how quick-witted he was. She said it showed up in his line delivery, but that he was also that witty and sharp in real life.
