Gah, couldn't they find an italian looking actress for that role? Jolie seems too modern, too exotic for that role. IMHO Maria wasn't pretty, but somehow the parts of her face came together to create her unique beauty (like Sophia Lorens face) and she had so much gravitas and poise working in her favor. I like Angelina as an actor, but I also think that while her name made this project a go, she's probably not the right choice.

Maria Callas started out quite overweight when she was young. Is somebody else going to play the younger Callas, or is Jolie going to wear a fat suit and prosthetics (not that she looks like her at all, but, you know)?  |

Angelina just doesn't look right. If they wanted someone who looked closer to Maria Callas - and could sing - then they'd have been better off with Lady Gaga.   |
