I've never watched it before but I might give it a go now as I got a cheap subscription offer from Now/Sky.

I'm not saying it's great art, but it's a pretty trippy visual experience. I think Zendaya Coleman give an amazing performance in the 2nd season in the scene where she finds out that one of her loved one's threw out her drugs. The rage - and swing in emotions - was just fantastic.

I liked the first season more, where each episode they would focus on one cast member's background/childhood so it helped you understand why they were so screwed up.
The second season wasn't as good but still worth watching.

I watched a lot of druggie/disturbed teen movies back in the day - Kids, Trainspotting, every Gregg Araki, etc. And even when they were dark, there was also a fun, trippy quality to them, and a lot more humour. I think the issue is that even when they're partying and doing drugs, gen z is kind of a humourless generation and it's reflected in their shows and art. they're missing that looseness and irreverence of previous generations, especially when shows are trying to be 'serious' like euphoria. i don't blame them, given the world they've inherited and the current cultural climate but it just doesn't make for great entertainment a lot of the time.
so yeah, good performances but I barely made it to the end of the first season.

He did not die from suicide. His mother left a message at Facebook:
I still think that maybe he just thought "let's just get over with this" and intenionally overdosed, but then, whatever gives his mother the most peace it is.

That's just his mother's thoughts, I don't think there's been an official report/cause of death yet? Lots of people plan things and even seem more positive before taking their lives. But i agree it probably gives his mother comfort to think it's accidental.

Not everyone who overdoses does it delibreately. For example, I don't think Philip Seymour Hoffman committed suicide. He was given a hot does, from what I remember. "We may find out" indicates, to me, at least, that there is going to be some kind of autopsy that will give us more information.
