This week tech billionaires Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg got bored of making the internet a worse place and challenged one another to a cage fight. And while you’d think these two would be too busy running their companies into the ground to take off for this catfight, the only thing that’s supposedly holding up the scrimmage is the height and weight difference between the two rivals.
Normally when MMA fighters beat the daylights out of each other, they compete in weight classes that require fighters to weigh in under a desired limit. Despite Elon’s recent 30-pound weight loss in the last year from a well-balanced lifestyle of “Fasting + Ozempic/Wegovy + no tasty food near me,” there are still a few weight classes between the two via TMZ:
Our sources tell us the guys are still serious about fighting in an Octagon, and as the UFC president told us yesterday, he’s absolutely down to put on the fight … but, Zuckerberg’s size disadvantage has become an issue.
In fighting, size matters, a lot. Elon is 6’1″, and reportedly weighs between 185 and 200 lbs. As for the Facebook founder, he’s just 5’7″, and reportedly weighs around 155 lbs.
Significant differences … Elon has a 6-inch height advantage, and somewhere around a 30 to 45 lb. weight advantage.
To put that into perspective, Zuck would be a lightweight in the UFC. Musk would be a middleweight or light heavyweight … a 2-3 weight class difference.
Mark’s been spending this past year winning jiu-jitsu tournaments, but Elon said himself his favorite move is called “the walrus,” where “I just lie on top of my opponent and do nothing,” and frankly, I’m not sure whether Mark’s going to be able to kick himself out of that big ‘ole confine.
Elon can flatten Mark into a hard disk for all UFC President Dana White cares because all he sees are dollar signs everywhere! Dana thinks this could have triple the views of the most watched fight to date, Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Conor McGregor, as reported by CNBC:
White said that he is already in “early stages” of planning how to put on the fight, but didn’t hesitate to play up the excitement he expects the brawl will create.
“This would be the biggest fight ever in the history of the world, bigger than anything that’s ever been done,” he said. “It would break all pay-per-view records.”
Frankly, I’m not very interested in watching these guys fight over their over-inflated pride. I say they should turn the stakes up a notch and wager their companies, Meta and Twitter, on the outcome of the fight! Now that I’d watch!
