Copycat Lacey cookies. I love them and got tired of paying over 4 bucks for 8 ounces. They’re really florentines minus the orange, though I am adding that next time.

Lunch buffet at work, courtesy of Carrabba's. I am eating grilled salmon, stuffed mushroom, Italian meatball, fresh-baked bread with olive oil and spices, red-skin mashed potatoes, some kind of chicken thing (is that mozarella on it?), a tiny cannoli and a huge chocolate-chip cookie!   |

I took a couple of scrambled eggs and extra mushrooms, sesame oil, white pepper, and chili oil and made fried rice out of leftover pilaf. It's not bad...

I must say, The Keys probably have the worst Chinese food ever. I love Chinese food but just can’t eat it more than once a year. After eating Chinese in New York for the first time, I didn’t eat it down here for YEARS!

i don't eat chinese food anywhere but SF or LA. it is ok in NY but nothing compared to SF. MAYBE someone can lead me to a good place in their locale, but that will be the exception.
peruvian leftovers. mr czb brought this stuff home from some work dinner in SF. the rice is spectacular. chicken ok. potatoes meh. the thing about peruvian potatoes is that they will serve it 3 ways with any meal and it is typically awesome. these french fries are subpar but edible.

I am selective about Chinese (or really any food from any culture that isn't middle America, including some American foods like Cajun...you cannot eat Cajun outside of Cajun territory, for ex.), but I find some good stuff here. But it's not like NY and I'm sure it is better in SF, but I've never been. It's always been on the bucket list (weirdly?) to have Japanese food in SF...if can't get to actual Japan, of course. I don't thing I had Chinese food in LA, not for lack of wanting it, but yeah...

I am eating the most decadent slice of pizza I have ever had in my entire life. It's from some local place. It is double mozzarella with ground beef, pepperoni, and ham. The ham pieces are like 1/4-inch chick and had that rind of actual fat still attached. Like the pizza dude was carving pieces off a leg of ham and dropping them on the pizza.

Chili dog with red cabbage/jalapeno slaw with some smokehouse almonds as a chaser. I realized late that what I thought were hot dogs were actually smoked sausage with jalapeno and cheese. Totally worked with the chili, cheese and onions.

I baked chicken thighs that I marinated in Allegro, garlic and Montreal steak seasoning, fried cabbage in bacon grease and mashed potatoes. I just finished it off with a cookies and cream brownie with chocolate ice cream.
