My heart breaks for her, she announced it much to early..personally l made a rule til l was 4 month along. l truly feel Britney needs a daughter, her girl, that will make her more compendent. Interviews from 20 years ago all say, retirement and a happy home with kids.. l truly believe she would be a great mother with assisted support And help. Britney's happiness and well-being shouldn't be put on the shoulders of a child. And what if it's another boy? I feel the same as many of you -- wondering if she was ever was pregnant, glad she's not, hoping that if she does get pregnant it will be OK. Personally, I think the last thing she needs is a baby right now. All that being said, I'm sorry she lost the baby. That is difficult.

But if she lost it at this point, it’s natures way of saying that it’s not a viable foetus.

I'm sorry this had to happen to her if it did but she genuinely does not need a new baby right now. too bad her boytoy is apparently as painfully ignorant as she is and doesn't see that either.

I think she told the world she was pregnant as soon as she got a positive test. Losing it before the 12 week mark is not uncommon, hence why most women won't say anything unless those 12 weeks are through. I hope she will take time to heal.

But if she lost it at this point, it’s natures way of saying that it’s not a viable foetus. At this age, it would be pretty irresponsible to not check in with a genetic counselor. But I guess it depends on whether she was far enough along to have a CVS test or something similar. How far along was she?

That’s true. It’s considered a geriatric pregnancy after 35.

She couldn't have been more than what, 8 weeks? Too early for any of that. And I think the genetic testing or lack thereof is the least of her irresponsibility, I'd barely even count it as such. It's the whole having a baby as an emotional band-aid that is the problem. It's clear she'll keep trying, so this is just like watching someone avoid driving off a cliff--knowing they intend to keep trying to drive off that cliff. Nothing will change the outcome anyway.

How far along was she? it's been a long time since i've had to think about this, but they can do extensive blood work testing pretty early on. i think in CA it is pretty much standard of care, regardless of maternal age. and the maternal blood screens are so good that they only do the invasive stuff (CVS, amnio) if there is something indicated in the blood screens. i THINK. someone with a more recent pregnancy will know more than i.

Testing can be done at 9 weeks. Can also reveal the gender.

Yeah, all my nieces have had big blood work-ups at 8-9 weeks that show if there's anything amiss and reveal gender. It's standard protocol now.

Put me in the "was she even pregnant club?" and I'm not ashamed to admit to it. ALL she has been talking about is getting pregnant again.
I also agree that the last thing she needs is another child unless Sam and those around here are prepared to watch her like a hawk for inappropriate and unsafe behaviors around a newborn/infant/toddler. She proved time and again when her boys were young she made foolish and impulsive decisions when it came to their safety.
ETA: while 35 is still officially considered advanced maternal age, there is push by ACOG (American College of Ob & Gyn) based on data to move that to 40 plus. The data shows the risks are no greater for mother or fetus at 40 than it is at 35.

How far along was she? that's the problem, she still thinks she's 16 and not 40 or however old she actually is. so she probably thinks she doesn't need that.

I doubt britters would get an abortion anyway even if the genetic testing showed something so it’s probably a moot point.

And we don't know if she was as far along to have a test or if she did get tested.
