Collier Grimm aka The Sidepiece. Holy bleached hair damage. And that coat looks like it's made out of calico cats. I can't help but like Shannen Doherty. It warms my heart that neither cancer nor divorce has extinguished the flame of her grand inner bitch. Good for you, Shannen!

I have two calicos so that's reason enough to take an instant dislike to her.

Yeah she sucks but come on, the husband should be the main focus on all blame and hatred. A guy that cheats on his stage IV cancer wife will be capable of lying his ass off trying to convince his new girlfriend that "they're not really together anymore" or whatever lie he thought of.

It's an unpopular opinion historically on this board. But I think the person who knowingly fucks the married man or woman is only a smidge less despicable and certainly worthy of a good chunk of blame.

I feel that in this case, the other woman knew exactly what she was getting into, because everyone knows about Shannon. Of course the husband cheated on his wife, he's the one to blame, but the side piece who knowingly takes part in a situation like this deserves no sympathy. Both show no sign of compassion or solidarity (or even basic decency) and they're both complete assholes who can't redeem themselves.

I’m not saying the girlfriend deserves sympathy but I refuse to fall into the internalized misogyny trap of placing more or even equal blame on the other woman. We’ve been making excuses for men’s shitty behavior for millennia and holding women to higher standards and all that does is let men off the hook and hurt us so no thanks.

I hate this sort of situation. My mother had an affair with my married father (I am the result) and my father left his (alcoholic) wife and his sons for her. He was definitely the bigger asshole in that scenario.

I've had mixed feelings about this until the last few years after my own experience of being 'the other woman'. In my case, I asked clearly and was lied to. I had some niggling doubts but I wasn't in it for a commitment or a marriage, I was enjoying the dating and sex and general fun of it all. When the situation became very clear I ended it immediately and let his girlfriend know (as she was planning to move across the country to be with him, a heads up seemed in order). Was I responsible for not paying attention to my niggling doubts? Nah. I knew he had no kids, I knew that I enjoyed him and I knew that I'd done my best to get clear information about his availability. I did my part.

Lied to is not what I'm talking about. And what I'm talking about holds true for both genders. Other man, other woman.

Yes a warning for the next woman in his life that he is a scumbag.

^^^ you would think but that never happens. it just falls out of the public consciousness. just like you don't see russell crowe continue to be labelled a 'homewrecker' decades after the affair with meg ryan despite everyone involved having long moved on, the way it happens with 'the other woman'. even after jennifer aniston had divorced the dude she married after she divorced brad pitt, people were still calling jolie a homewrecker, and still are. and whenever meg ryan comes up someone will inevitably bring up the fact that she cheated on dennis quaid but that never happens for crowe or other men in that same situation. we've internalised that it's somehow more acceptable for men to cheat and if they do it's the other woman that gets pilloried and labelled because men are just being men but women are not only held to higher standards and judged more harshly, they're somehow responsible for how men behave and men's bad choices.
sometimes women are our own worst enemies, and do the dirty work of upholding the sexist bullshit that has held us down forever.

I see what you're saying Sput, for sure. For me personally though, cheaters suck donkey balls. And the knowing other woman or man is a cheater too. So they all suck. The married person is the perp. The affair partner is the accomplice.

Well while we're at it, where's his picture, I'll take shots at that asshole, too.
Nobody said shit about mistress until we were shown Bleach Barbie in her calico fur. Before then we were talking about Shannen.
I'm here to talk shit about tacky people I see in pictures I'm shown.
