Donald Trump says he will be arrested TuesdayFormer President Donald Trump said he expects to be arrested Tuesday in Manhattan — and urged his followers to protest his looming indictment. “THE FAR & AWAY LEADING REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE & FORMER PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, WILL BE ARRESTED ON TUESDAY OF NEXT WEEK. PROTEST, TAKE OUR NATION BACK!,” he thundered in an all caps missive to his followers on Truth Social Saturday morning. He slammed Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office as “CORRUPT & HIGHLY POLITICAL” in his post. Trump again insisted he had committed no crime, and reminded his followers that Bragg’s campaign had been heavily financed by liberal billionaire George Soros. Bragg’s looming charges are said to focus on Trump’s payments of hush money to Stormy Daniels, an adult star who claimed she had an affair with Trump in 2016 and received $130,000 in hush money payments from the billionaire to keep her quiet during his 2016 presidential campaign. Trump has denied the alleged infidelity. An attorney for Daniels said Wednesday his client had met with Manhattan prosecutors, and that she was prepared to testify in any trial as a witness. Michael Cohen, Trump’s former attorney and fixer, pleaded guilty in 2018 to federal campaign finance law violations stemming from the payment and was sentenced to three years in prison.

When are they going to indite him for terrorism? Trump attorney ordered to testify before grand jury investigating former president By Kaitlan Collins, Devan Cole and Katelyn Polantz, CNN Updated 9:39 AM EDT, Sat March 18, 2023 Honig: Prosecutors in Trump case make 'very rare' request 01:12 - Source: CNN CNN — In a monumental ruling Friday, a federal judge ordered Donald Trump attorney Evan Corcoran to provide additional testimony as part of an investigation into the former president’s handling of classified documents, a source familiar with the matter told CNN. Corcoran has the potential to become one of the most crucial witnesses in special counsel Jack Smith’s criminal investigation into possible mishandling of classified records after the Trump presidency and obstruction of justice. District Judge Beryl Howell said in an order under seal that Justice Department prosecutors have met the threshold for the crime-fraud exception for Corcoran, the source said. The scope of what DOJ will be allowed to ask, however, was not immediately clear. Trump’s team is expected to appeal and ask for the judge’s order to be stayed while legal proceedings play out. The decision hands Trump yet another loss under seal in court as his team and allies have tried to hold off Smith’s investigators from learning about direct conversations the former president had with some of his closest advisers. The development is particularly notable because of accusations prosecutors would have made about Trump as they argued to the judge for the grand jury testimony. A Trump spokesperson said the ruling is a “violation of due process.” “Whenever prosecutors target the attorneys, that’s usually a good indication their underlying case is very weak. If they had a real case, they wouldn’t need to play corrupt games with the Constitution. Every American has the right to consult with counsel and have candid discussions – this promotes adherence to the law,” the spokesperson said. Corcoran, an attorney-turned-witness, had previously testified to the grand jury but declined to answer some questions, citing attorney-client privilege. The department argued to the judge he should not be able to avoid answering, because his discussions with the former president may have been part of an attempt to plan a crime. Howell’s ruling is one of her last on sealed grand jury disputes as chief judge. The Obama appointee has repeatedly green-lit Justice Department requests to pursue information about Trump’s actions during her tenure as chief of the DC District Court, but she rotates out of the administrative role on Friday. When Corcoran first testified to the grand jury in January, he was asked about what happened in the lead-up to the August search of Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence. Corcoran had drafted a statement in June that attested Trump’s team had done a “diligent search” of boxes moved from the White House to Florida and that all classified documents had been returned. Christina Bobb, the attorney who signed the letter, added the caveat, “to the best of my knowledge.” After that, the FBI searched Mar-a-Lago and found hundreds of government records, including classified material, raising questions about the lawyer’s attestation. This story has been updated with additional details. CNN’s Paula Reid contributed to this report. edition.cnn.com/2023/03/17/politics/evan-corcoran-testimony-trump-lawyer

With all the crap he's pulled, including treasonous acts against our country, I can't believe the only thing they are getting to stick right now is the payoff to Stormy. Arghhhh.

His calling for protests should be seen as inciting violence. Asshole.
I am curious though if his call to arms will result in more than 20 people showing up.

I saw a thing on TV earlier where his cult had a gathering at Trump Tower. One of them was burning a picture of DeSantis. If the crazy all get together it could get messy and after January 6th I wouldn't put it past them.

Not gonna lie though - and I know they aren't going to do it - but I'd sure like to see footage of him doing the walk of shame with cuffs on.

I'm wondering if it's going to happen now. They are actually calling one of Michael Cohen's attorneys for a secret grand jury hearing today. Supposedly, he is going to counter some of what Cohen said about what the purpose the $130,000 payment was for. But then, Cohen will get to rebut this guy's testimony. So, this could go until Friday, from what I read....

I guess they didn't call Michael Cohen in to respond to the attorney (aka Guilani's buddy). Guess they didn't find him credible.
I am also reading speculation that he said he would be arrested to get the rest of the GOP to fall in line and come to his defense. In which they fell in line.

Yeah GOP leaders are demanding the investigation documents claiming this is a political witch hunt and now Congress must intervene to stop this abuse of prosecutorial power.
There will never be justice here. To me this isn't just about Trump. He's just the most annoying and obvious example. The rich and powerful run this show called America. They will protect each other to protect this system. The system that gives them that wealth and power.

None of them are going to speak out against him. He's got a chokehold on the entire party.

Jailed yet?
In any case, Trump lied (shocker I know), but that grand jury doesn't meet on Tuesdays, they meet on Mondays and Wednesdays, so this isn't happening today. Maybe tomorrow or next week.
