Yeah, sad but he (and Roslynn) are both way into their nineties. I think/hope he will be remembered as a good man and humanitarian. Also not as just a one term president. He really had some progressive ideas, especially for the time, but instead we ended up with Reagan to begin the decline of the Republican party. And so many people thought he was great.

this sucks. there will never be another Jimmy Carter. I've always thought history had treated him so unfairly for so long. inheriting so many issues caused by Nixon and prolonged by Ford that he ended up being blamed for when all he was doing was his best. I'm sad this time has come but I'm glad we were all able to exist at the same time as him.

Unlike all those disgusting Evangelicals, Jimmy Carter is a true Christian. If his health would not have started failing he would still be out there building houses for the poor. ^Jimmy Carter at 95.

My heart is breaking. Probably one of the most decent, selfless people to ever walk the planet. His contributions will be remembered for a long time.

A true humanitarian who walked the walk. He had such progressive ideas about energy when he was President. We should have listened. This passing will be a tough one.

I'm not sure how to rate him as a President, but he is unquestionably the most admirable former President in US history. My father became deeply involved with Habitat for Humanity because of Carter, as did many others. He led by example, didn't he?

I hope he has a peaceful transition. He had the foresight for climate change and was a true humanitarian.

Jimmy and Rosalynn have done most everything together throughout their lives. It would not surprise me if she will pass away shortly after him. Married since July 7, 1946!

almost 77 years they've been together, that's longer than many people are even alive.

I hope President Carter has the most peaceful transition possible. He is such a good man, there will never be another like him.

This one is tough for me. Jimmy was my favorite president ever. I wrote him a fan letter when I was 8/9 and got a response. I wish I still had the letter, but I think my mother lost is somewhere in our many moves.
