This happened about 1/2 hour away from me and it is so sad. The superintendent and the school administrators who were involved should all be fired.
Brother of bullied teen Adriana Kuch blasts NJ school, calls for superintendent to resign

Only one of the four New Jersey girls involved in the beating of 14-year-old Adriana Kuch — who took her own life two days later — was initially suspended from school, her anguished brother has claimed. “They dragged their feet. They only punished one of the girls on day one,” Jacob Kuch said of school administrators at Central Regional High School in Bayville. “Only one girl was suspended. The other three girls just got to go back to class.” Kuch, who made the comments Friday night on NewsNation, said Adriana continued to be bullied after she returned home from school on Feb. 1 and that the parents of the bullies did not take action. “The initial girl who got suspended, her phone was not taken away. It’s devastating how they were allowed to continue on,” he said. The group of girls was seen on video attacking Adriana in their high school hallway as she walked with her boyfriend. They kicked and punched the teen and dragged her down the hallway. They also pulled her hair and hit her with a 20-ounce water bottle as onlookers laughed. The four girls were eventually suspended and upgraded charges were filed against them Friday. Kuch also called for Schools Superintendent Triantafillos Parlapanides to resign for comments he made about the family. Parlapanides tried to shift blame for Adriana’s death to her family and claimed her father’s “affair” contributed to her turmoil. Adriana took her own life inside a closet in her Berkeley Township home hours after she received a message mocking her for getting her “a— whooped,” her father has said. Jennifer Ferro, Adriana’s sister-in-law, told NewsNation that the girl talked about wanting to be a tattoo artist in the future. “She was so amazing. She was just so amazing. That’s all I can say,” she said.

^^^ Did you see his email to the Daily Mail? He said her father had had an affair which made her mother take her own life. Then the father's affair partner moved into their house, and Adriana's grades fell and she "began to make poor choices" implying drug use. So the school offered mental health and addiction help, which the father refused more than once.
In other words - her shitty home life made her kill herself and it had nothing to do with being constantly bullied - physically and mentally - at her shitty school. Which he stated... to THE DAILY MAIL. Other parents and students in the school lost their minds over this (both the lack of accountability and the release of sensitive and private information about Adriana) and protested outside the school and the superintendent's office and the asshole finally resigned.
He's looking at a long legal battle and I hope he starts to understand what bullying feels like.
This poor girl.
eta: Oh yeah, and he's finally figured out how to say, "No comment."

I did see that. Absolutely disgusting. I'm hoping his days are numbered.

Surely there's some law that (should, in theory) prevent people like this arsehole from sharing confidential and/or sensitive information about staff or pupils? I really hope that there is and that he sees not only his career ruined but also gets some time in a cell to reflect on what a colossal fuckup he made. It's also really sad to see that things haven't changed much from my school days and that the attitude is still that educational institutions will bend over backwards to hide bullying rather than admitting it and dealing with it. I'd have much more faith in a school that said "Yes, bullying does happen here but this is how we are cracking down on it" rather than the more usual "No bullying here! No siree! Nothing to see! Move along, move along!"
