I thought Pedro Pascal was pretty awesome on SNL. I was on YouTube just now looking at news reports, and they had my favorite skit up from this weekend. It's kind of a parody of the situation where someone has an accident and comes out of a coma but speaks in an accent that they previously did not have. I was laughing really hard, and it was especially funny when Pedro starts to lose composure at one point and then everyone else is trying to keep it together.

For some reason there were two restaurant skits in the same episode, but I liked the one with Ego cutting the steak.

I had the subtitles on & they missed big chunks out. I usually like SNL.....

^^ I don't know if you were supposed to understand it all. I didn't but still think he was hilarious. Every time I watch it, it gets funnier.

Thanks. I don't know if it's because I don't watch much TV or if it doesn't cross the Atlantic but I don't get it. Watched the rest of the show (fast forward Coldplay) & it was good.

Novice - trust me, it isn't just you. I had a hard time following what he was saying. His "accent" reminded me a LOT of Dennis Quaid's in the movie "The Big Easy". It's like a fast drawl, and the pronunciation of consonants is super soft.

He sounded like Eric Cartman to me. Not New Orleans at all (my mother was born there & had the accent).

To me, it just sounded like someone with a speech impediment.

They say in the skit it's "some kind of weird L.A. mush-mouth" accent. So like, mostly valley girl with some hispanic/asian?

Here he is talking to Seth Myers about the accent, among other things. Too funny.
