After a week, is it still a rescue, or a recovery? When we first moved to Colorado, we went hiking in red rocks park before attending a concert at the red rocks amphitheater, when we weren’t used to the altitude yet. I thought I was gonna die. 😛 I'm guessing that after a week in the weather I've been reading about it'll be a recovery, assuming that he didn't go off trail and they can find him.

When we first moved to Colorado, we went hiking in red rocks park before attending a concert at the red rocks amphitheater, when we weren’t used to the altitude yet. I thought I was gonna die. 😛 I'm in pretty good shape and used to plenty of walking, getting a lot of steps in a day on a regular basis, including stair flights a few times a day. But the first time I came to Colorado (Denver) I could feel the altitude from the moment I left DEN for at least 24 hours after. I definitely overpacked that first trip. In addition to carry on bag and purse I had a large suitcase I had to retrieve from baggage claim upon landing. By the time I'd hauled all that crap across DEN toward the descending escalator headed outside to the airport rail I felt strangely out of breath, but chalked it up to a long walk carrying a shitload of things across a stuffy airport in the summertime. I remember being perched (incredibly) on that steep ass escalator headed down with ALL my things and the very moment that outside air hit me I felt for a second like I was going to pass out! It was a scary feeling. I felt like crap for about 24 hours, but it passed. Subsequent trips I have taken I haven't been quite as affected. But I can still feel a difference when I go there, being that I'm used to living at sea level. Unfortunately, with this much time passing, I doubt they will find him alive. Did he go by himself?

Drinking extra fluids really helps. We drove up pike’s peak when we were acclimated and it was still a little hard to breathe, plus we all caught headaches. Also got sunburned, those rays are wicked at at that altitude if you are pasty white. 🙄

That's easy to do in Colorado because the water is awesome there.

I know, I miss being able to drink tap water, and not having mineral deposits on everything. TX water really sucks.

PA water is the worst, we are high in both iron & calcium. So my water tastes like blood, stains like a crime was committed in tubs/showers and skin, plus we get hard water stains all despite having both an iron & hard water treatment system (that wasn't cheap). I have numerous reasons I'd like to move back to NYC and towards the top is the water!

No white clothes here, two washes and they get a lovely orange tinge. But it tests as perfectly acceptable. I wouldn't even let my dog drink it.

We do bottled water for the dogs, I wouldn't drink it and neither should they! We use Iron Out's WhiteOut for our whites and color safe Clorox for colors. If we don't, whites are completely orange and colors fade and take on an orange tint. Never in my life have I thrown out so many clothes. Anything requiring boiling to cook, comes out orange too and that's using the filtered water from the fridge. I cannot fucking take it. I took off my toe polish the other day, my nails underneath are completely orange. Off for a new pedicure later cause yuck. I mean it wipes off with an alcohol swab but it's so gross.

I don't mean to brag, but Oregon has amazing water. So delicious right out of the tap.

I don't mean to brag, but Oregon has amazing water. So delicious right out of the tap. I once lived off grid in the Cascade Mountains, and I drank rainwater straight from the Oregon Sky. It was the most delicious water I ever drank. I am so sad over Julian's disappearance, he is an actor everyone recognizes, and I really can't recall hearing anything bad about him. Could he have been targeted by someone/a kidnapper?

After a week, is it still a rescue, or a recovery? I've read that since they lost track of him a week ago, they have picked up a couple of pings from his phone and that he's still on the move. So that would suggest that they are still hopeful of finding him alive.
