It annoys me when someone wears a dress like this but then hair and makeup looks like they should be in jeans and a t shirt at a ball game.

It's a pretty dress and it does look nice on her and I agree about the hair.

I know we're freeing the nipple and all that shit but I'm a prude and would just rather not see it in a formal/glam setting (and that goes for men too).

I could honestly care less about the nipples. They're not too over the top. And at least I'm not having to look at flapjacks in my face like Katie Holmes.

i don't think this is tacky at all, it's sexy but still super chic. i feel like a bad feminist for saying this but i think women with smaller boobs are at an advantage in that they can get away with showing a lot more and still look elegant, than us larger breasted women. this wouldn't look the same if, say, a real housewife with implants was wearing it. 
i don't give a shit if you can see my nipples pointing through fabric, in fact it happens all the time because i hate padded bras, but i'm not going full sheer boobs because it just doesn't have the same effect when you've got larger boobs (even non-silicone ones) than when you've got smaller ones like olivia.
